The past decade, with its torture, renditions, black sites and drone assassination campaigns, has had little to do with bringing anyone to “justice”, and especially not Osama bin Laden. Why was it, then, that the Barack Obama administration chose to assassinate the al-Qaeda leader, rather than bring him into a court of law.
