Students representing Jewish state in international competition in Amsterdam take home four bronze medals as well. Education minister congratulates them on ‘impressive achievements’
Israeli students won five medals, one gold and four bronze, in the 52nd International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), which concluded in Amsterdam on Friday.
Following the impressive achievement, Israel jumped 30 spots in the global ranking to the 23rd place out of 101 countries which took part in the event. This is Israel’s best accomplishment in the past seven years.
The gold medal was won by Rom Dudkevitch of the Blich High School in Ramat Gan. Guy Raveh of the Leo Baeck School in Haifa, Yoav Krauss of the Katzir School in Holon, Tom Ferster of the Ostrovsky School in Raanana and Constantine Zabrani of the Ironi Hei School in Haifa all took home a bronze medal.
