Kuwait Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Abbas Al-Nomes on Friday stressed that his ministry would strictly apply laws related to the lectures and gatherings inside or in front of mosques.
In statements to KUNA here, Nomes said: “The Ministry will never allow the use of mosques for any purpose other than worship.” Nomes’ remarks came after a number of people tried to hold a lecture in a mosque without having the official permission.
“These people have breached the mosques law which stipulates for getting a permission from the Awqaf Ministry before holding any activity inside Kuwaiti mosques as well as closing mosques after the prayers complete,” the minister said. Read more
