Local President of the Ahmadiyya Mulsim Association Wolverhampton branch Mr Yasin Khan said:
“It’s an honour and a privilege to launch this year’s Poppy Appeal at our Mosque. It’s a charity the whole nation embraces and keeps close to their heart as through this we help to support and raise money for those brave and valiant people who risk their lives for our country. The act of remembrance will be in the forefront of people’s minds as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of World War I.
Please donate into the various Poppy Appeal collection tins around city centres and shops as every penny helps to support those ex service men and women.
As we continue to remember those young boys and girls who sacrificed their lives, this is the time all of us to unite and support this good cause regardless of our political or religious differences.
As additional support from Ahmadiyya Muslim Midlands Region we shall be offering 100 volunteers on 5th Nov 2014 to help poppy appeal drive in Birmingham this is the only way we can give back to the local community as Ahmadi Muslims and loyal citizens.”
