Report by Talat Mehmood, General Sec. Jama’at Japan
The oldest Muslim Group in Japan, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community which resides here since 4th June 1935 celebrated Eid al-Fitr — a holiday marking the end of Ramadan — Tuesday with food and sports activities at a “under-built” yet “to be the largest” Bait-ul-Ahad mosque in Japan.
The religious service for the day began at 10:00 a.m.
President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Japan Imam Anees Ahmad Nadeem said:
Ramadan is a month where Muslims fast from dawn to dusk. Through fasting, participants learn lessons of tolerance and patience and it helps them understand how those who have no food feel.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Japan`s Eid celebrations have been marred by the news that three people, including an eight-month-old baby and seven-year-old girl, were killed when their home in Gujranwala was torched by extremists.
This recent events points towards the entirely lawless yet escalating perseuction of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association in Pakistan.
May Allah grant patience to all those left bereaved and to Ahmadi Muslims all over the world who are equally affected by the crime.
