Prophecies by past prophets about Prophet Muhammad (saw)

The Truth Message – Part – 3.2:

Muhammad in prophecies of Abraham, Jesus, Moses, Vedas, etc.

God, the Exalted raised the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him) and elevated his status to Khataman-Nabiyyeen-(Seal of the Prophets)-The only perfect one. And God had made him reveal his high-status by saying:

“Had I not created thee I would have created neither heaven nor earth.”

Hence, all the prophets of the yore reflected partly the prophethood of the Holy Prophet in one form or another as he was the purpose for all creation.

Does anybody need more reasons for his greatness?

The Promised Messiah of All Religions Has Come!

The Promised Messiah writes:

“In Surah Aal-Imran, part three, there is a detailed description of how a firm covenant was taken (by Allah) from all the Prophets that it was incumbent upon them to believe in the greatness and majestic grandeur of the Khatmur-Rusul (the Ultimate among Prophets) viz. Muhammad, the chosen one (saw), and extend full devotion and support in the dissemination of his greatness and majesty.

It is for this reason that all the Prophets and Messengers who have existed from Hadhrat Adam, Safi Ullah, upto Hadhrat Masih, Kalimatullah—all of them have, respectively, affirmed their belief in the greatness and majesty of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him).” [Surmah Chashm Aaryah, footnote, Roohaani Khazaa’in vol. 2, p. 279-281]

Prophecies by past prophets about Prophet Muhammad (saw)

Yes, you’re right if you’re thinking that this is the same GREAT PROPHET who was prophesized by almost every prophet in almost every age since the start of our generation. We will now discuss The prophecies here in detail.

Coming of Mohammad was foretold in clear and precise terms by Abraham, Jesus, Moses, Solomon, Isaiah, and many other great past prophets, including the prophets of Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. too; Proofs are available in their books which I’ll now be quoting (with actual references, of course) which will prove the status of His superiority over all the other Prophets, as perceived by them as well.

Previous scriptures such as Torah & Gospel also hold strong references to the coming of Mohammad (saw) as told in the Holy Qur’an:

Those who follow the Messenger, the prophet, the Ummi, the Immaculate one, whom they find mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel which are with them. He enjoins on them good and forbids them evil, and makes lawful for them the good things and forbids them the bad, and removes from them their burdens and the shackles that were upon them. So those who shall believe in him, and honour and support him, and follow the light that has been sent down with him – these shall prosper. (7:158)

This lengthy passage from the Holy Quran not only mentions the purpose of the advent of the Holy Prophet (saw) but also states that earlier scriptures contain prophecies regarding his advent.

Jesus called him as “Comforter”; Bible referred to him as the “The Paraclete” , “the Spirit of Truth”, see John, 12:13, 14:16, 17, 15:26, 16:7. Also at ISA 9:6 he is rreferredas the “Counselor”, “The Holy Spirit”…

He was THAT prophet about whom Prophet Abraham (pbuh) prayed…
He was THAT prophet up on whom the fiery law as told to Moses was revealed…
Habakkuk mentioned Muhammad’s majesty as the Holy one from Mount Paran
Vedas of Hinduism called him the ‘very praise worthy’ which is the literal meaning of name Muhammad
Song of Solomon sings his praise characteristically…
Prophet Isaiah (as) warned against not accepting him…
He was the fulfillment of Daniel’s dream…

…you’ll soon have all reasons to believe in him.

Let’s get into the details: Open your books now and let’s compare!

Let’s now see how the other prophet’s prophesied the coming of this great Prophet, Mohammad (saw) and how he matched their prophecies.

Abraham’s Prayer for a Great Prophet among His Progeny:

“And, our Lord, raise up among them a messenger from among themselves, who may recite to them Thy signs and teach them the book and wisdom and may purify them; surely, Thou art the Mighty, the Wise.” (Ch.2:V.130)

The verse serves as a summary of the subject-matter and treats the various subjects in exactly the same order in which they have been mentioned in this verse, i.e., first come the Signs, then the Book, then the Wisdom of the Law, and last of all the Means of National Progress.

In this prayer Prophet Abraham prays to God to raise among his progeny a great Prophet with Specific missions. The Prophet promised therefore must belong to the descendants of Abraham (Children of Ishmael). In order to point out that the expected and Promised Prophet was to be an Ishmaelite, the Qur’an has quite appropriately made mention of the construction of the Ka’bah by Abraham and Ishmael and of the prayers offered by Abraham for the posterity of his eldest son.

In Genesis 17:20 God promised to bless Ishmael to multiply his Progeny, to make him a great nation and father of 12 princess. The people of Arabia are his descendants. The Ishmaelite tribes of Arabia believed & indeed claimed to be so.

According to Gen. 21:8-14 Hagar had to leave her home in order to satisfy the vanity of Sarah. She was banished to Hijaz or Paran (Arab geographers, Mu’ajam al-Buldan). According to Bible the generations of Ishmael “dwelt from Havilah unto Shur’ (Gen. 25:18) they designate the opposite extremes of Arabia (Bib. Cyc. by J. Eadie, London, 1862). The Bible calls Ishmal ‘a wild man’ (Gen. 16:12) and the world A’rabi means “a dweller of the desert” conveys almost the same sense. Even Paul admitted Hagar’s connection to Arabia (Gal. 4:25). Kedar was a son of Ishmael and it is accepted that his descendants settled in the southern part of Arabia (Bib. Cyc. London, 1862).

The Arabs were Ishmaelites according to the Hebrew tradition as well (Prof. C. C. Torrey ) The twelve Princes (Gen. 17:20)

The Arabs from physical characteristics, language, and the occurrenceof native traditions… and from the testimony of Bible are mainly and essentially Ishmaelites (Cyclopedia of Biblical Literature, New York, P. 685)

Muhammad (saw) is the Light to dispel the darkness of current Christianity! Let’s see how:

Jesus always said:

I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. (Matthew 15:24)

Meaning that his message was limited only to the Jews. The scriptures, which he claimed to fulfill and not to change, were not meant to cope for the human needs of all time. This task was reserved for a great and universal Law Bearing prophet who was to come at a later date.

The Messiah Jesus, Son of Mary

The Messiah Jesus, Son of Mary

Jesus prophesized coming of Mohammad (saw):

Jesus (pbuh) told his disciples that after him the Counselor or Comforter would appear and would teach them all the things he was not commissioned to do. (John 14:15-16, 14:25-26, 16:7)

This is exactly the claim of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa). In the Holy Qur’an God Almighty commands the Holy Prophet (saw) to declare:

Say “O mankind! I truly am a Messenger to you all from Allah.” (Ch. 7: V. 159)

No other prophet or scripture lays down such a claim, because they were not meant to be universal.

Jesus was a true prophet of God.

Again and again he repeated that he was sent to the world only to give as much guidance as the people of his own time could bear. As for complete teaching which would stay forever with mankind, he said:

A. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. How be it when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak… And he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me … (John 16:7-14)

Further elaborating the prophecy, Jesus says:

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will sent him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin…

Now let’s take this prophecy point by point and compare it with all prophets & the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw). This prophecy clearly lays down that:

First: if I depart, I will send him unto you:

The Comforter will come only after the departure of Jesus: Prophet Mohammad came after Jesus. No other prophet came between Jesus (as) & Mohammad (saw).

Second: He will guide you unto all truth:

He was to guide “the world” into all truth: All truth refers to perfect truth: Again Muhammad (pbuh) was the only prophet who claimed to have brought a universal and perfect law; The Holy Quran confirms this statement in the words of the lord:

The one-God almighty says in the Holy Qur’an:

[1:1] In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

[2:3-4]: This is a perfect Book; there is no doubt in it; it is a guidance for the righteous

[10:2] …These are the verses of the Book that is full of wisdom.

We have left out nothing in the Book. (Ch.6:V.39)
Therein are the everlasting teachings. (Ch.98:Vs.3-4)
It is a decisive word (Ch.86:Vs.14-15)

And, indeed, We have set forth for mankind all manner of parables in this Qur’an that they may take heed. (Ch.39:V.28)

(54:6) Consummate wisdom; A cure for the souls; (86:14)

[3:4-5]: He has sent down to thee the Book containing the truth and fulfilling that which precedes it; and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel before this, as a guidance to the people. And He has sent down the Discrimination. Surely those who deny the Signs of Allah shall have a severe punishment. And Allah is the Mighty, Lord of retribution.

Third: The prophecy said that “he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that he shall speak“. This description can only apply to the Prophet Muhammad (saw). The Quran is nothing but the word of God from beginning to end, delivered by Angel Gabriel. Not a word even of the Prophet himself is to be found in it.

Allah says says about revelations to Muhammad (saw) in the Holy Qur’an:

[53:4] Nor does he speak out of his own desire.
[53:5] It is nothing but pure revelation that has been revealed by God.
[53:6] The Lord of mighty powers has taught him,

[53:8] And He revealed His Word when he was on the uppermost horizon,
[53:9] Then he drew nearer to God; then he came down to mankind,
[53:10] So that he became, as it were, one chord to two bows or closer still.

[53:11] Then He revealed to His servant that which He revealed.
[53:12] The heart of the Prophet was not untrue to that which he saw.
[53:13] Will you then dispute with him about what he saw?

To compare: The New and Old Testaments do not contain a single book in which man’s word has not been mixed with God’s.

Let’s see:

When Peter appeared before the people of Jerusalem, his words were:

Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you“.

John starts one of his conversations with “I, John, who am your brother”. On the same lines we read the utterances of Philip, James and others in the Bible. But as Jesus clearly said:

‘…for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak’

Even when the Quran says about the Holy Prophet, it said : He does not speak out of his own desire. It is naught but pure revelation, revealed by God. The Lord of Mighty Powers has taught him. (The Holy Quran 53:4-7)

Even Moses had said the very same thing: Check the * below.

Fourth: Of the promise, “He will show you things to come“:

We need only say that no prophet has told the world of things to come; as much as has the prophet who brought Islam (the final religion) to this world. The things that he told 1400 years ago are the truth of today & the blue-print of the future. Search for his prophesies (presented below) and you’ll know.

Fifth: He shall glorify me:

The prophecy also added that ‘this comforter’ will glorify Jesus. Glorification can only come after accusation. The Holy Quran of Mohammad (saw) contained all the proofs to clear Jesus of all the charges that the Jews, the Christians and the Muslims had against him.

This very statement about Jesus is present in The Holy Quran:

‘O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death and will raise thee to Myself, and will clear thee from the charges of those who disbelieve…’ (Ch. 3:56)

The Holy Qur’an defends the honor of Jesus: When the Jews charged him of being an accursed person believing that he died hanging on the cross – the Holy Quran not only defends him but also mocks at the ability (of Jews) in understanding the facts:

‘ …They [The Jews] slew him not, nor did they bring about his death on the cross, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified, and those who differ therein are certainly in a state of doubt about it: they have no definite knowledge thereof, but only follow a conjecture; and they did not arrive at a certainty concerning it; (The Holy Quran 4:158)

Here the Holy Quran [of Mohammed] specifically says that Jesus was saved from that accursed death designed for him by his enemies. They only imagined that they had succeeded in crucifying him to death. But the Lord, Allah, had not only saved him but admitted him to the circle of His favored ones.

Through the Holy Quran and sayings of Mohammad (saw), it is today clearly proved that Jesus lived a successful life upto 120 years of age and died a natural death after accomplishing his mission. Hence, cleared him of all charges and glorified him.

The Holy Quran regards the status of Jesus (peace be upon him):

“Jesus said, I am a servant of Allah. He has given me the Book and has made me a prophet. And He has made me blessed wheresoever I may be and has enjoined upon me prayer and alms-giving so long as I live. And, He has made me dutiful towards my mother, and He has not made me arrogant and graceless. And, peace was on me the day I was born, and peace there shall be on the day I shall die, and the day I shall be raised up to life again.” (The Holy Quran, 19:31-34)

So to conclude, Jesus said all the above referring to the Holy Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) who was born not in Israel but in Arab. Thinking, why? Refer to the facts about ‘That Prophet’.

Jesus (as) was the last prophet in the Mosaic dispensation, and there was to be NO other prophet in Israel after him.

Prophethood was to be cut off from Israel (as), and was to be transferred to the House of Ishmael (as), the brethren of Israelites. There was, therefore, the hazard that through their ill-fortune the children of Israel might refuse to accept the prophet who had been mentioned in the Torah (Deuteronomy 18:18) under the title “That Prophet”.

Jesus (as) was, therefore, charged with preparing the minds of the children of Israel for the acceptance of “That Prophet” who was to bring the last, perfect, enduring universal law; the prophet whose coming was to be like the coming of God.

B. Jesus says:

“If ye love me, keep my commands. And I will pray to the Father and He shall give you another Comforter. That he may abide with you forever; even the Spirit of truth.” (John 14:15-17)

In Matthew (23:38-39) we have:

Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

This prophecy explains three things and of two advents.

First: Ye shall not see me henceforth… That Jesus will go away (die);

This was also told in another verse, remember? See here: It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. Mathew (23: 39)

Second: After the departure of Jesus, an another prophet will come and his coming will be ‘in the name of the Lord”.

This was also told in here: And I will pray to the Father and He shall give you another Comforter. That he may abide with you forever; even the Spirit of truth.

The comforter is to be followed and obeyed forever as his teachings will be everlasting in nature, suited to all coming times.

Third: Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

That you shall not recognize the re-advent of Jesus himself again until you say and accept that Mohammad hath cometh in the name of the Lord.

The fact is that ‘the prophet who would come in the name of the Lord was Mohammad (saw) whose book consists of 114 chapters and all of them start ‘In the name of the Lord’; fortunately the second coming of Jesus has also happened.

(Aren’t we very late in knowing all truths? Not any more late then…let’s get going)

And again he says:

In John 16:13:

“Howbeit when he, the spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself: but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.”

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the comforter who appeared right after him. An illustration of the glory of the God was manifested through this great prophet. He was (and is) the spirit of truth. Prophet Muhammad (saw) never said anything out of his own accord, rather what ever he heard from God conveyed to the people in its pristine purity. The record of his revelation in the form of the Holy Qur’an is a glaring testimony to the fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecies. So blessed are indeed those who believe in him who came after Jesus (peace be upon him) in the name of the Lord.

But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14-26)

Only the prophet of Islam could have fulfilled this prophecy of Jesus. Prophet Muhammad proved to be a divine and honored Teacher and also bore testimony to the truth of Jesus. Qur’an, the book of Mohammad has ample testimonies confirming the status & death of Jesus which I shall be presenting soon.

Truly has the Holy Prophet himself (on whom be peace and the blessings of God) said:

‘If Moses and Jesus were alive today, they would have had to believe in me and follow me.'[Tafsir Ibn-i-Kasir, vol. 2, p. 246.]

Moses prophesized coming of Mohammad (saw):

When Moses went to Mount Horeb under the command of God he addressed the Israelites saying:

The Lord thy God will raise unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me, unto him ye shall hearken. (Deuteronomy 18:15)

*And again, God’s words to Moses: I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass that, whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. (Deuteronomy 18:18-19)

Deuteronomy

Let’s check it phrase by phrase now:

A. ‘…a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren…’ AND “a Prophet from among their brethren”

Both of these prophecies say that a Prophet will be raised from the brethren of Israelites which means that, that prophet will come from the Ishmaelites: Muhammad (saw) was from the brethren of the Israelites, the Ishmaelites.

B. Moses was told that the prophet will be like him in “like unto thee”

It is evident from these verses that Moses foretold a Law-giving Prophet like him.

Did ya know: Muhammad was proclaimed as a prophet like Moses, not only in Torah but also in the Quran as well:

Referring to Mohammad (saw), the Qur’an-e-Majeed says:

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as we sent a Messenger to Pharaoh. (The Holy Quran 73:16)

Wonderful, isn’t it?

C. ‘…and will put my words in his mouth and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

It also told that God would put Hiswords in the mouthof thisprophet and this prophet shall only speak unto themall that God shall command him. The New Testament gospels, on the contrary, do not consist of words which God put in Jesus’ mouth. They only tell us his story and what he himself and his disciples said and did.

This description can only apply to the Prophet Muhammad where his book, The Quran, is nothing but the word of God from beginning to end. Not a word even of the Prophet himself is to be found in it.

And we have the same in the Quran as well. About the Holy Prophet, the Quran says: He (Mohammad) does not speak out of his own desire. It is nothing but pure revelation, revealed by God. (The Holy Quran 53:4-5)

The prophecy spoke of “words which he shall speak in my name.” The Holy Quran, specifically claimed to be the word straight from God, the lord, the almighty, the One.

All the chapters in The Holy Quran start ‘In the Name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful’ or ‘Bismillah-Hir-Rahman-Nir-Raheem’ except Surah 9 Al’Tauba (alone) which doesn’t start with it ONLY because is not a separate Surah in-itself but a part of Surah Al’Anfal.

Bismillah is the first verse of each surah, and we believe that Bismillah was revealed with each Surah like other verses and so it is the start of each Surah.

Though Jesus came after Moses but do these prophecies suit Jesus? No.

Was Jesus such a prophet then? No.
Was he a Law-giver? No.
Did he bring a new Law into the world to replace an old one? No.

The answer is here, in his own words: Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. (Matthew 5:17-18)

And the followers of Jesus went so far as to declare: And the Law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law. (Galatians 3:12-13)

Jesus laid no claim to a new Law; his disciples regarded the Law as a curse. It was the Holy Quran which announced from the very outset that: This is the perfect (complete) Book, there is no doubt in it. It is a guidance for the righteous. (The Holy Quran 2:3)

The Holy Quran today is the only book which is called ‘The Last Law (last Shariah) of This Land from The Lord of The Worlds’.

D. , unto him ye shall hearken. AND

And it shall come to pass that, whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him

How clearly are all Israelites warned that if they will not accept the coming prophet they will stand answerable to the Lord! Is not that a clear command that the Lord gave you through Moses (pbuh), your beloved prophet?

In short, approximately 1900 years before the advent of Mohammad (the prophet of Islam), Moses declared that his own Law was, in the divine scheme, not the last Law; that the world was to have a fuller Law later on; and that, for this God would send in the latter days another Messenger of His. This Messenger was to teach all truth; it was he who was to mark the last stage in the spiritual advancement of man. The world had to wait for another book and another Prophet.

So, you see, the Quran and the Holy Prophet have come after the Bible and after the Prophets Moses and Jesus, and if they claim to have come from God as guidance to man, their claim must be treated as just and true. It must be taken as the Fulfillment of ancient prophecies. Indeed, if the Quran had not been revealed, or if Prophet Mohammad had not come, the promises made by God through His messengers would have gone unfulfilled, and the world would have become afflicted with doubt and disbelief.

How clearly has the prophecy been fulfilled in the person of the Prophet Muhammad in all of its details! Subhan’Allah! (Holy is my Lord)

The Very Important: Bible has more to add:

The prophecies of the Bible (through Moses) had even led its followers to that part of the world where the great Prophet was to appear. Thus it was said:

And he said, the Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; and shined forth from Mount Paran and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them. (Deuteronomy 33:2)

map

In this verse Moses is promised three manifestations of the glory of God.

  1. ‘the Lord came from Sinai’ : Mount Sinai holds significance of God’s manifestation to Moses.
    .
  2. ‘rose up from Seir’: Seir is the place where the Lord almighty manifested miracles to Jesus.
    .
  3. ‘shined forth from Mount Paran’ :The third manifestation of divine glory was to take its rise from Paran (Arabic Faran), the name of the hills which lie between Mecca (Birth place of Muhammad), and Medina (the town where he died).

‘and he came with ten thousands of saints’: History witnessed that Prophet Muhammad entered Mecca accompanied with his ten thousand saints (true followers).

‘from his right hand went a fiery law for them’: The Holy Prophet declared that the message of God had been completed in the form of the Holy Quran. His fiery Law – the Holy Quran, consumes all impurities of flesh and turns even the grossest hearts into pure gold.

Thus the prophecy of Moses was fulfilled, Masha’Allah (as desired by the Lord, Allah).

Could Jesus have fulfilled this wonderful prophecy?

Let’s See: He did not rise from Paran. He had only twelve disciples and he did not bring any law. Hm… so you know, it can’t be him.

~***~

Just to add a bit to the above: A very similar statement is found in the Qur’an too: Read this:

[95:2-9] By the Fig and the Olive, And by Mount Sinai, And by this Town of Security, Surely, We have created man in the best make; …Then what is there to give the lie to thee after this with regard to the Judgment? Is not Allah the Best of judges?

‘The Fig’ ‘The Olive’, ‘Mount Sinai’ and ‘This Town of Security’ are four strong symbols which are counted in an order of ascendance.

“The Fig and the Olive” are symbols of Jesus;
“Mount Sinai” we have seen is the place for God’s manifestation to Moses, and;
‘This town of Security’ refers to Mecca of the Holy Prophet.

Other commentators however take ‘The Fig’ for Buddhism, ‘The Olive’ for Christianity, ‘Mount Sinai’ for Judaism and ‘The City of Security’ for Islam.

But perhaps the best explanation is in referring them to four periods:

The Fig (apron | Gen 3:7) to Era of Adam (pbuh);
The Olive (Dove | Gen 8:11) to Noah (pbuh);
Mount Sinai to Moses (pbuh) and;

The Town of Security refers to Islamic period which is the last and is destined to stay till the end of this generation.

Mohammed mentioned in Habakkuk:

His advent was also prophesied by Habakkuk several centuries before Jesus. He said:

God comes from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hands: and there was the hiding of his power. Before him went the pestilence, and the burning coals went forth at his feet. He stood and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, and the perpetual hills did bow: his ways are everlasting. I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; and the cullain of the land of Midian did tremble. (Habakkuk 3:3-7)

This again shows that the third manifestation mentioned earlier was going to be by one who would appear from the land of Teman and Mount Paran.

A. His glory covered the heavens, The earth was going to be full of his praise:

It is not a mere accident then, that the Holy Prophet of Islam was named Muhammad, which literally means, ‘the Praised One’. And to add, the EARTH AND THE HEAVEN ARE STILL FULL OF HIS PRAISE. Not a fraction of a second passes without him praised (as decided by the Lord, Glory to Him) by thousands at once in this world as all Muslims are commanded to, in this verse:

A proof from the Quran-e-Paak:

Chapter 33:57: Allah sends down His blessings on the Prophet (Mohammad) and, His angels pray for him. O ye who believe! You too should invoke His blessings on him and salute him with the salutation of peace.

B. And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hands: and there was the hiding of his power.

Mohammad (saw) was the light of the world. Let me present you a verse from the Holy Quran:

Chapter 33:47: And as a Summoner unto Allah by His command, and as a light-giving Lamp that gives bright light.

Regarding his hidden power:

When a person arrives at this exalted stage (as Mohammad), he sometimes performs acts which appear to be beyond human power and have the colour of Divine Power in them. For instance, during the battle of Badr, the Holy Prophet (saw) threw a handful of gravel at the opposing force not accompanied by any prayer, but with his own spiritual power, which affected the opposing force in such an extraordinary manner that everyone’s eyes were struck by the gravel and they were rendered sightless and began to run around in confusion and helplessness. This miracle is referred to in the verse:

…And thou threwest not when thou didst throw, but it was Allah Who threw… (Ch.8:V.18)

…meaning that it was Divine Power that was working behind the scene and it did that which was not within the human power.

In the same way, another miracle of the Holy Prophet (saw) which was the splitting of the moon was displayed by Divine Power. It was not accompanied by any prayer as it happened merely by his pointing at the moon with his finger which was filled with Divine power. The disbelievers had themselves witnessed it with their own eyes.

C. The enemies of Muhammad suffered destruction, pestilence and humiliation of “burning coals” in encountering him in spite of overwhelmingly stronger and larger forces.

Let’s compare this prophecy of Ha bakkuk with other prophets now, and let us not proceed without confirmations:

Moses died while he was still fighting his enemies;

Jesus was put on the Cross by his enemies;

Only the prophet Mohammad (saw) is one who beheld and drove the nations asunder, as mentioned by Habakkuk. His enemies who looked like “everlasting mountains and perpetual hills” with their immense power, however they were completely routed. Later “the tents of Cushan” and the “curtains of the land of Midian,” that is, the land of Canaan then under the Roman Caesar, also found their salvation in surrendering to the servants of the Holy Prophet in the time of Caesar’s successors.

Thus the prophecy of Habakkuk fulfilled in the person of The Holy Prophet Mohammed of Islam, Peace and Blessings of God be upon Him.

No debates please…! I’m just putting down whatever is written in the books from the lord or in the words of His prophets.

Peace!

Mohammad (pbuh) in Hinduism:

The Divine Vedas

The Divine Vedas

The Vedas of the Hindus contain numerous prophecies pertaining to the advent of the Holy Prophet (saw). Among the four Vedas of the Hindus, Athra Veda occupies a prominent position. It is also known as Brahma Ved (i.e. Divine knowledge). It contains the following prophecy:

O people! Listen to these words with reverence. A very praise-worthy person will appear among the people. He will accept him from among 60090 enemies. His means of transport would be 20 camels. His name will soar high and then return. This great Rishi will have 100 gold coins, 10 pearl necklaces, 300 Arab horses and 10,000 cows. (Athra Ved Kantam 20-127, 70-1-3)

Here many characteristics of the Holy Prophet (saw) have been mentioned.

The Promised Rishi is called praiseworthy. The word Muhammad itself means worthy of praise.

He and his companions used camels as means of transport whereas for the Rishis of India, the use of camel is forbidden (Manu Smrithi 5:8).

When the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, appeared in Arabia, the population of the Arabs was stated as a little more than 60,000. The entire population had become his enemies.

Almighty God protected him against his enemies. The Holy Quran also says: And Allah will protect thee from men. (5:68)

Soaring high and returning refers to his experience of Miraaj, the spiritual ascent.

The 100 gold coins refer to his companions who migrated twice to Abyssinia.

The 10 pearl necklaces signify Ashra-Mubashera, the ten companions of the Holy Prophet (saw), regarding whom God gave the glad tidings of Paradise in this world itself.

The 300 Arab horses signify the 300 companions of the Holy Prophet who took part in the battle of Badr. They numbered 313. Eight of them could not participate in the battle. One of them died before the battle, and four of them were small children. Thus the actual number of people who fought in the battle of Badr together with the Holy Prophet was 300.

10,000 cows signify the ten thousand holy people who entered Mecca triumphantly with him on his return. It is worthy of note that the number 10,000 is also mentioned in the Bible.

Prophecies in the Bhavishyath PuraN:

Bhavisyath Puran also contains a prophecy regarding the advent of the Prophet (saw).

Maharishi Vyas Muni occupies an eminent position among the Hindus because of his vast knowledge and wisdom, and God-given capabilities. In addition to other religious literature, he has written 18 PuraNas such as Brahma PuranBhagath Puran. The 18th Puran is named Bhavisyath Puran. It contains prophecies pertaining to the future. According to the beliefs of the Hindus this book contains Divine revelations and prophecies. This Bhavisyath Puran contains the following prophecy regarding the Holy Prophet:

A spiritual reformer will come from a foreign land (outside Bharat) with his disciples (companions). His name will be Mahamad (Muhammad). He will dwell in a desert. (Bhavisyath Purana 3:5-8)

Here the name of the spiritual reformer is clearly given as Muhammad (saw). Generally in the Vedas all countries outside Bharat are referred to as Mlech. The foreign land is said to be in a desert. Here the Holy Prophet’s companions are especially mentioned. Perhaps there is hardly any other prophet who had so many companions who had moulded their lives in the manner of their prophet.

Maharishi Vyas Muni has mentioned the following qualities of this Muhammad Rishi and his followers:

His followers will perform circumcision. They will not keep their hair in the form of Choti as the Brahmans do. They will keep beard. They will bring about a revolution. They will call with a loud voice (i.e., instead of using a bell to call the people for prayer, they will call people to prayer in a loud voice by ‘Azaan’). They will eat meat of animals other than that of swine. They will attain purity through Jihad. Their civilization will be called Muslay (Muslim). (Bhavishyat Puran Vol. 3 verse:3)

Need any explanations? I guess not.

Without any interpretation, all these characteristics agree completely with the characteristics of the Holy Prophet of Islam and his followers. In short, all the prophecies of the divine books of the Hindu religion have been fulfilled in the person of the Holy Prophet of Islam.

The Prophet (saw) gathered together all the nations and religions on a common platform on the basis of their own teachings which are founded on Divine Unity. He gave the message of equality of mankind and universal brotherhood.

Let’s pray:

O Allah, shower Thy mercy and Thy blessings on the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him, and his progeny). Thou Art the Praiseworthy, the Lord of Honour.

Mohammad In the Song of Solomon

In the Song of Solomon (5:10-16) we have:

My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven. His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set. His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh. His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires. His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon socks of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.

This prophecy promises a Prophet who would be superior to others, and would possess a rank higher than others. We say this because the rapturous description in the Song of Solomon comes in reply to the question:

What is thy beloved more than any another beloved?

(5:9). We are told that this beloved would stand out like a flag among ten thousand men. As a flag symbolizes an army, the description, therefore, applies to some great occasion on which this beloved would command a following of ten thousand.

So we see ten thousand mentioned twice in 5:9 & 5:10. Please refer above if you forgot what it refers to.

We are also told: His lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh (5:13).

Now myrrh is a kind of gum, of bitter taste but sweet-smelling and very useful, a germ-killer and a cicatrizer, used in disinfectant preparations, in treating wounds and making scents and perfumes. We are also told that “he is altogether lovely” (mark the Hebrew Mahamaddīm). It means his person and character would be such as to compel love and admiration. This prophecy clearly applies to the Holy Prophet of Islam.

It was he whose teaching proved like myrrh for the world, bitter in taste but beautiful in its effects. It contained principles and rules all of which were calculated to promote the well-being of man, and which yet tasted bitter to some nations because they were against a lazy useless life and taught to live a useful life to the fullest. And it is he who is called (and is true to the description) Muhammad (saw).

The Song of Solomon also contains a warning for Israel: they are told not to meddle with the Promised Prophet. Thus in 2:7 we have:

I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.

The theme is continued in the Song in 3:5 and in 8:4 (please refer to them). These passages only mean that when the Promised Prophet appeared, Jews and Christians, two branches of Israel, would oppose and oppress him; but as the Prophet would be a God appointed Prophet, they would not succeed, but would instead suffer an ignominious defeat. Solomon hence had warned his people beforehand.

The Israelites, both Jews and Christians, were advised to accept the promised prophet. It would not do to oppose him and to try to stem the tide of his influence. Opposition would spell the opponents’ own destruction For a people who meddle with a Prophet’s mission become liable to divine punishment.

So Muhammad in the words of Solomon was “altogether lovely” which in Hebrew is expressed as Mahmaddim.

He was the fulfillment of the “stone” of Daniel’s dream. (Daniel 2:34-35)

He was the coming of the lord of the vineyard himself as foretold by Jesus.

Let’s see what Prophet Isaiah (as) had said about Holy Prophet Mohammad (saw):

The book of Isaiah also is full of prophecies about the Holy Prophet of Islam. They all point to the advent of another great Prophet, the harbinger of peace and contentment for the whole world.

(a) In Isaiah (5:26-30) we have:

And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly: None shall be weary nor stumble among them; nor shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the ratchet of their shoes be broken: whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent, their horses’ hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind: Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it. And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow, And the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.

This prophecy says that… A time was to come, when somewhere outside Palestine a man would raise a flag. This man would call the nations of the world who would swiftly answer his call and gather around him. Those who responded to him would shun sloth and indolence and make great sacrifices for their cause. They would take part in wars and their horses’ hoofs would emit fire like flint. Their attacks on their enemy would resemble a whirlwind. They would completely overpower their enemy whom no one would be able to save. And why should they do all this? Because they would see that the world was full of darkness and a big change called for.

Can we even try applying this to Jesus (pbuh)…? Not at all; Jesus had a different mission and he left the world after completing his mission. It is a great mistake to attribute a prophecy about one to another who has absolutely nothing to do with it.

This prophecy applies in its entirety to the Holy Prophet of Islam. There is a reference to it in the Quran also. In accordance with it, the Holy Prophet appeared away from Palestine in Mecca, and raised his flag in Medina; it was God design who announced Mohammad’s reign to the world in his words saying:

 ‘O mankind, truly I am a Messenger to you all …’ (7:159).

Surely, Allah gives to whomsoever He pleases without measure. He had come as a messenger to the people of the whole world, no matter which geographical area they belonged to, no matter which prophet they had followed in the past and whatsoever.

It was his voice to which men and women from the ends of the earth responded with great alacrity. In Jesus’ life not one convert came from outside the fold of Israelties. But believers in the Prophet of Islam came from Yemen and Najd and Iran, and among them were idol-worshippers and Jews and Christians. They made such great sacrifices at the Prophet’s call and exerted themselves for it so ungrudgingly that the worst enemies of Islam feel constrained to pay a tribute to their spirit of devotion and sacrifice.

God Himself pays a tribute to them in the Quran thus:

Allah is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Him (9:100).

There are some of them who have fulfilled their vow… (33:24).

The Prophet’s followers had to take part in wars and to make use of bows and arrows. Their horses’ hoofs were like flint and their heels like the whirlwind. To this too there is a clear reference in the Quran:

By the snorting chargers which strike sparks of fire with their hoofs, making raids at dawn, and raising clouds of dust therewith, and penetrating thereby into the centre of the enemy forces… (Quran Ch. 100: V. 2-6).

This is a description of the warriors of early Islam, and how truly does it correspond to the prophecy of Isaiah. Show me one proof where Jesus (pbuh) rode on horses penetrating thereby into the center of enemy forces, if you can.

Coming back to our topic: We are told that the advent of this prophet will be at a time when even the light will be darkened by the sin and corruption of land and sea. Isaiah also tells us that at the time God will turn away His face from the house of Jacob (Isaiah 8:13-17).

We have in one part of the prophecy:

And if one look unto the land, behold darkness and sorrow, and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof (Isaiah 5:30).

The Quran refers to this in 30:42 thus:

Corruption has spread on land and sea.”

That is, both human wisdom and divine teaching have become dark and both point to the need of a new Teacher, bearer of a new Message from God.

Also in 65:11-12 we have:

Allah has indeed sent down to you a Reminder—A Messenger who recites unto you the clear Signs of Allah, that he may bring those who believe and do good deeds out of darkness into light.

(b) In Isaiah (8:13-17) we have:

Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken. Bind up the testimony; seal the law among my disciples. And I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

And from Matthew, chapter 21, it appears that the Promised One—the stone of the prophecy—is not Jesus, but another prophet coming after Jesus, and in 21:44 we have a fine description of the stone:

And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to power.

Similarly in Psalms 118:22 we have:

The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

To this there is reference also in Matthew (21:42):

Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

So you see, Jesus himself denies all claim to this prophecy, and hints it to the one coming after him. Christians today fondly apply the prophecy to their Church. But this attempt will not avail. The prophecy, in its entirety applies only to the Holy Prophet of Islam and his followers and to none else.

The prophecy goes on to say:

The stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth (Daniel 2:35).

This is exactly what happened. The Holy Prophet and his band of devotees defeated the Kaiser and the Chosroes, and Muslims became rulers over the whole of the then known world. The stone did become a great mountain; for a thousand years the direction of world affairs remained in the hands of Muslims.

The prophecy of Isaiah clearly foretells the appearance of a Holy One whose coming will prove a trial for Houses of Israel, a snare and a gin for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, who will be defeated and disgraced if they choose to oppose him. His advent will mark the supersession of the Mosaic Law and God will turn away His face from the House of Jacob.

Christian writers are silent on this point. Maybe they take the two Houses of Israel to mean the two factions; one of which supported and the other opposed the son of Solomon and set up a rival rule. But this will not do, because the prophecy speaks of a holy man and of events which will take place in his time. This holy man can either be Jesus or someone coming after Jesus, because there has been no outstanding religious personality between Isaiah and Jesus who may have confronted Israel with a crucial Message. But did Jesus confront Israel with any such Message? And did Israel suffer defeat and disgrace on opposing this Message? And did Jesus seal the Law for his disciples and announce its supersession by another Law? As for this, Jesus’ declaration is quite clear. He said:

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one title shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled (Matthew 5:17-18).

Jesus settled the point not for his own time only but also for the future. He said significantly:

Can the children of the bride-chamber fast, while the bride-groom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days (Mark 2:19-20).

From these declarations it is obvious that, according to Jesus (as), even after his death, the Mosaic Law was to remain binding upon his disciples. Were this not so, he could have said that the days of fasting were over. Instead of this he not only fasted himself, but he also prophesied that his disciples would begin to fast after him.

Sealing the Law, therefore, does not mean abolition of the Law as such or repudiation of the very idea of determinate religious duties. It means that in the time of the Promised Holy Man, the Mosaic Law would become superseded and a new Law would become established in its place. If this interpretation of mine is not true, why were we told that God would turn away His face from the House of Jacob? Did not Jesus belong to the House of Jacob? If he did not so belong then he could not be a descendant of David. And if he was not a descendant of David, he could not be the Christ of the prophecy. For Christ was to be a descendant of David… Any more questions?

(c)In Isaiah (9: 6-7) we have:

And then: For unto us a Child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6- 7)

We are told of a time when a man will call the nations of the world who would swiftly answer his call and gather around him (Isaiah5:26-30). Refer above please.

The prophecy gives promise of a king who will have five titles: Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father and, and The Prince of Peace

King: It was he [The Holy Prophet Mohammad of Islam] who had to shoulder the responsibilities of a state, and thus, quite against his will, had to be called king.

Wonderful: Life of Muhammad was wonderful from every aspect (Please read the book ‘Life of Muhammad’ by Hazrath Mirza Basheer-uddin Mahmud Ahmad for more details).

To the Arab nation it was a birth from darkness into light;

A poor shepherd, roaming unnoticed in its deserts, and then he becomes a prophet produced from among themselves with a message that they could believe, and then the unnoticed land becomes world-notable, the small had grown world-great. Within one century afterward Arabia is found glancing in valor and splendor and the light of genius; Arabia shone with the light of Muhammad which had seemed black, unnoticeable sand.

Counselor: The second name of the promised one is Counselor. This could be rightfully applied to the Holy Prophet. A nation turned to him for advice. He, in turn, held regular consultation with his people, and made it obligatory on the State to consult the people in all important matters. The Holy Quran tells us that his companions sought his consultation regularly.

Mighty God:The prophecy had also described him as mighty God. The Bible has often mentioned the prophets as God himself. (Exodus 7:1 and 4:16)

Whenever a human being is spoken of as a “like of God” it can only mean that he is a manifestation of the Almighty. Again the Qur’an says about (to) Mohammad (saw): Verily those who swear allegiance to thee indeed swear allegiance to God. (The Holy Quran 48:11)

We have seen other examples where God manifested his powers through Mohammad (saw).

Thus came the manifestation of mighty God, The Holy Prophet was also able to subjugate all his enemies in his lifetime and History witnessed the first war won without shedding a drop of when he conquered Mecca and entered with his 10,000 believers… That was his might above everybody else.

Everlasting Father: The fourth name in the prophecy is Everlasting Father. Jesus was sent only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel and, therefore, could not possibly be an everlasting father to all mankind. On the other hand, the Holy Prophet was referred to in the Book of Lord, by the Lord himself as:

And We have sent thee as a bringer together of all mankind—a bearer of glad tidings and a Warner for all mankind; but most men know not. And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you speak the truth?” (34:29-31).

So he stands as the spiritual ‘everlasting father’ for all mankind. And the above verse also confirms that the disbelieving people are still waiting for the advent of such kind of a Messiah with all of the supreme qualities and yet do not accept the one who has come fulfilling all the promises.

Chapter 21:108: And We have not sent thee but as a mercy for all peoples. See ‘all peoples’ here.

He was promised that his teaching would abide forever with the people because at the end of days, he promised coming of a Messiah (re-advent of Jesus) after him who would appear from among his followers and would again revive the teachings of Islam, cleanse them of impurities that come with time, and prove conclusively that the spiritual dominion of the prophet of Islam is everlasting and there would be no heavenly teachers then except from his followers.

Prince of Peace: The fifth name in the prophecy is Prince of Peace.

ISLAM is PEACE: ALLAH is As-Salaam (peace personified) — Muhammad is Al-Ameen (Peaceful) — MUSLIM who promotes peace — Greeting of Muslims is AssalamuAlaykum (peace be upon you) — Mecca is Balad-ul-Ameen (a city of peace) — Angel Gabriel Rooh-ul-Ameen (Angel of peace) — And say:

It is the truth from your Lord. Wherefore let him who will, believe, and let him who will, disbelieve.’ (Ch.18: v.30)

As for the performance of peace and forgiveness in Muhammad’s life we have ample evidence. Let me quote just one clean example:

Persecution was severe in the time of Prophet Muhammad (saw): Through thirteen long and weary years the prophet of Islam and his little band of devoted followers bore with calm dignity and patience the bitterest persecution at the hands of the Meccans. Starvation, flogging, scoffing, humiliations, degradations and outrages of every description were the order of the day. When the Prophet migrated and took refuge in Medina, even there he was not left in peace. During a war the body of his Uncle was cut and his liver was eaten in cannibal style by his enemies. Over a period of seven years of sustained and brutal persecution the Prophet of Islam appeared suddenly on the heights of Paran, at the head of ten thousand saints, with no battle fought and not a drop of blood shed. The Prophet announced, gently and mercifully:

… No blame shall lie on you this day; may Allah forgive. (The Holy Quran 12:93)

And he forgave all of his enemies at once! Is this not a proper meaning for being called ‘Prince of Peace’?

Is there any other prophet who treated his enemies like this? Who else can then be called a true Prince of Peace?

The prophet of Islam had the power to punish his enemies but he chose to forgive.

My Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), therefore, was the Prince of Peace of Isaiah’s prophecy.

It was he again who also attained government rules beyond the boundaries of this earth and thus could fulfill the last part of this prophecy saying, “Of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be no end.”

Now let’s compare it to Jesus (pbuh):

Wonderful: Jesus (pbuh) might have been called it because of peculiar birth, but then Adam (as) has a greater claim over this title as he born without earthly parents. Wondrous were the miracles of Jesus but we’ve seen how Mohammad’s miracles are beyond comparision and were accepted even by the disbelievers near him and also by those who were far from him.

King: Was Jesus ever a King? Were the names enumerated in this prophecy ever applied to him?

He never became a king. He remained oppressed by his opponents until he was put on the Cross and he had to escape to avoid persecution. He could be called the Counselor as every prophet is a counselor to his people but yet he cannot be called ‘the best’ as expected in this prophecy.

Can Jesus be truly called ‘Prince of Peace’? He did not become a sovereign in his life and so could never gain power to administer forgiveness to his enemies who (as we all know) had the power to crucify him.

He never attained to any government and, therefore, the words, “…the government shall be upon his shoulder,” has no meaning in terms of his life.

Mighty God: He gave no exhibition of the might that is mentioned in the above promise. Both friend & foe denied this of him. Was this not the case, the disciples would have not deserted him as says the Matthew:

Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

Does a mighty one meet with such a fate?

The Everlasting Father: Jesus could not be called Everlasting because he himself had mentioned another one coming after him.

++++++

So confirmly these signs apply only to the Prophet Mohammad (saw).

++++++

| May God help you dear reader with His special help in understanding these divine concepts |

Next, In Isaiah (62:2) we have:

And thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.

Now this is very very important.

Isaiah foretold that a Prophet would come whose religion would be named by God and who followers will also be named by the God. Quite evidently, Islam is the religion and Muslims are the people (followers of Islam) who have been named by God.

Let me get you the proofs:

God says in the Quran: … (He) named you Muslims both before and in this Book. (22:79).

Let me remind you that Quran was verbally revealed to Prophet Mohammad (saw) by Angel Gabriel (Jibrail) who delivered the words of the Lord to the Prophet and this process took a period of approximately 23 years to complete.

The Holy Prophet (saw)’s last revelation* says: …This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favor upon you and have chosen for you Islam as religion… (Ch.5:V.4)

FYI: *This verse was last to be revealed, the Holy Prophet died only 82 days after its revelation.

This is a clear reference to the prophecies of Isaiah!

The verse of the Quran seems to say,

“We foretold that your name will not be one of your choice but one of Our choice. Accordingly, today, We give you the name—Muslim.

The name is derived from salām which means Peace, and this is in keeping with one of the titles of the Promised Prophet— “Prince of Peace”. The prophecy was marvelous. Equally marvelous is the fact that only Muslims claim to have received their name from God in His own revealed word.

Annotators of the Bible apply this prophecy to the Christian Church, notwithstanding the common knowledge that the names Christian and Christianity, or the many names by which Christian sects are known, were never proposed by God in His revealed word but were assumed by the people. There is just one people alone in all the world that have a name given to them by God, and they are Muslims following Islam which the mouth of the Lord hath named.

(d) Another prophecy we wish to quote from Isaiah is contained in 4:1-3. It is as follows:

A foreword: Prophecies many times contain a symbolic element which has to be interpreted before the meaning of the prophecies can be unraveled. The use in the below of such names as Jerusalem, Zion, etc., is only symbolic. But Christian writers have been misled by these symbols into thinking that the prophecies relate to Jesus. Names qua names do not constitute any part of the prophecies. If the general content of the prophecies does not apply to Jesus, the names Jerusalem or Israel or Zion will not justify the application. True, the names also have a meaning, but a meaning which fits into the main content of the prophecies. As such the names Jerusalem and Israel will only mean “My holy places” or “My selected people”, not Jerusalem or Israel per se.

And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name to take away our reproach. In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. And it shall come to pass that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem.

Once it is agreed that Zion and Jerusalem in this prophecy are but symbols, the entire content of the prophecy is seen to apply to the Holy Prophet of Islam and to none else. The prophecy says that the Promised Prophet will bring with him wealth and splendour, that he will have treasures of the earth laid at his feet that his people will be called holy and that polygamous marriages will be the rule at the time.

Do these signs apply to Jesus and his disciples? Did they bring with them a period of wealth and splendour? Were the treasures of the earth laid at their feet? Was polygamy in demand by their society? No. The signs apply only to the Holy Prophet of Islam, his followers and his time.

Jesus is supposed to have disapproved of polygamous marriages. But the Holy Prophet of Islam sanctioned these under certain conditions. It was in his time that wars had to be fought in defense of religion and the youth of the nations had to lay down their lives. The number of widows increased and young women had difficulty in finding husbands. The Holy Prophet, accordingly, ordered polygamous marriages to prevent immorality and to make up for lost man-power.

~***~

These were just a few of the many prophecies found in the great Holy Books about the advent of that great prophet who was going to lead the world into all truth. Time does not permit me for the citation of a few more of the many prophecies made by a number of past prophets which refer clearly to the Holy Prophet of Islam (saw).

~***~

Now let us explore the Arabia At The Time Of The Prophet Muhammad (saw)’s Birth …important to know as to understand why was a prophet required then.
