Anyone Can Say ‘Allah’, Not Only Muslims

By : Under the pen-name Harun Yahya; Mr. Adnan Oktar has authored some 300 books in 73 languages on political, faith-related and scientific issues which have been read by millions of people

Huff Post: Previously in Malaysia, the use of the word “Allah” was prohibited for anyone other than Muslims as a result of a decision by a Malaysian court. The case was opened when the Catholic newspaper, The Herald, used the name Allah.

This mistaken decision was based on illogical and theologically unacceptable reasoning:“Preventing any confusion that might be caused for Muslims when using the name Allah by the non-Muslims.”

On the other hand, even though there were explanations the Malaysian government officials that this decision applied to The Herald newspaper only, it is obvious that in reality this decision will be applied to society in general and there will inevitably be an environment of severe oppression.

Such a decision cannot be accepted and defended even if it was directed at one newspaper or a single person. This decision, which is completely against Islam, a religion of peace and brotherhood, must be reversed and there must be freedom of expression for everyone.

However, following this decision, the statements of some extreme right Muslim groups like,“Christians must accept the supremacy of Islam or move to another country”, indicate the vastness of the danger at hand.

This wrong attitudes put forth by disobeying God’s command in the Koran — which is revealed in the verse: “There is no compulsion in religion” (2:256) — must be immediately changed. Freedoms must be respected equally for everyone. Muslims must unite and resist those who are attempting to create hatred against other faiths through such anti-peace movements and must not allow themselves to be deceived by such plots.

  1. The name Allah is eternal. It cuts across all tribes, religions and nations, for, it is His name inherent. It is Allah from time immemorium. it is Allah right from the beginning of human religious history which started from prophet Abraham. The word God or god is completely alien to the almighty creator and sustainer of the universe. It was an English creation. The English were primiives living naked in caves when Islamic civilisation was flourishing. Ii is therefore natural for human beings to say Allah, nothing strange or apocriphal about it because IT IS HIS NAME!

  2. Quite right. The Malaysians should think about it. Is Allah not the God of all creation? Is Allah the God of the Muslims only? Is Allah not the God of Hindus and Christians and Budhists??
Did the prophet Muhammad s.a.w.s. forbid the polytheists (Mushrikeen) from using the word “Allah”? Mushrikeen are the worst people. If they were not forbidden to speak about Allah then why the Mullas of Malaysia are forbidding and trying to eliminate the name of Allah from that land?
Every one must know that the prophet Muhammad s.a.w.s. never invented the name of Allah in Makkah. It was all there before him. Every one was praying to Allah in Makkah. But they had other gods beside Allah. That was the wrong thing which was challenged by the prophet Muhammad s.a.w.s.
The prophet s.a.w.s. did not forbid any one from uttering the name of Allah.
The Christians in Egypt and Jordan and other middle east countries are using the name of Allah, even in their Bibles, since many centuries.
The Mullas of Malaysia are nobody to start a new problem in Theology.
It is impossible to implement the order against the use of the word “Allah”. What will happen when a Muslim in Malaysia with preach to a Christian and tell him to believe in Allah? The Christian will say who is Allah? Who is your Allah?….
Of course he would have to use the word “Allah” and become guilty at the same time…
