World population to shoot up to 9.7 billon in 2050

Amid the countries like China inventing new methods for tackling the population rise, a new study predicts rise in the world’s population to 9.7 billion in 2050 from the current level of 7.1 billion.

A Historical Forecast in 1993

A new study led by French researchers have predicted the remarkable rise in the world’s demography saying by 2050 India will overtake China as the world’s most populous nation.
America will breach the one-billion mark in 2050 with 1.2 billion inhabitants against 958 million at present. And Asia’s population will increase from 4.3 billion to 5.2 billion in 2050, the study says.
