Pictures- Bekasi Ahmadis in stand off

The Jakarta Post:

Around 50 Ahmadis in Bekasi, West Java, have sealed themselves in the Al-Misbah Mosque, which the municipal administration closed the day before in a crack down.

FORCED EVICTION

The Ahmadis have refused to leave the mosque, which has been surrounded by a corrugated sheet fence that was erected by the administration on Thursday.

MOSQUE SEALED – NO PRAYERS ALLOWED

The security coordinator for the group, Deden Sudjana, said on Friday that local Ahmadis had received several threats before the mosque was sealed by officials.

ON GUARD THAT NO ONE PRAYS TO ALLAH

“The government should have protected us as citizens, not treated us cruelly like this,” Deden told The Jakarta Post.

  1. This posting showing the pictures of the sealed Mosque of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of the Bekasi town, near capital Jakarta, makes the readers all over the world hang their heads in shame that the police and soldiers-in-uniform are forcing the small numbered community of peaceful, peace loving, God fearing Ahmadi Muslims of Bekasi, ordering them to get out of their Mosque and then banned them to come, visit or assemble in the mosque to bow their heads to touch the ground in obedience to the supreme will of God for the sake of worship of their God Almighty. One could only hope and pray that the bold, enlightened and responsible leadership in Jakarta will follow the foot-steps of the first President of Indonesia Mr. Soekarno, who had practically made Indonesian Republic a country in which all Indonesians lived in peace and harmony and with no animosity or ill-will against any section of society or community. Let us hope such an enviable era of hope, prosperity and enlightenment will return, once again to enable the people to live their lives as pleases God Almighty. Ameen.
