A group of 200 Bekasi public order personnel assisted by police officers and soldiers were ordered to seal the Ahmadiyah mosque Al Misbah in Bekasi as a follow-up to the Ministries Joint Decree that have prohibited the Ahmadi from spreading their beliefs.
Several of the Ahmadiyah followers became distressed at the sealing but were unable to prevent it.
“They’ve told us to halt all activities,” Mosque security chief Deden Sujana said on Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.
Deden criticized the sealing, saying the Ministries Joint Decree hadn’t stipulated mosque sealings.
The Al Misbah Mosque had previously received threats from hardliners like the Islam Defenders Front (FPI). In February 14, the Bekasi administration sealed the mosque to prevent further trouble but then it was reopened by the followers.
In the past, dozens of Ahmadiyah mosques throughout the country have been sealed off by either religious hardliners or local government representatives for the reason that Ahmadiyah is not recognized as part of Islam and therefore its followers have been prohibited from performing or spreading their version of Islam.(nai/dic)

The incident took place at 24 km distance from Jakarta and was published in many newspapers on April 04. The Jakarta Post has published the report only few hours ago.
Very Sad news. Islamic Countries are shuting down Mosques where as non-Islamic countries Allow construction of New and Big Mosques. Strange world we live in.
More suffering is still ahead for Islamic countries.
My worries about the country of Indonesia increases with each of this kind of News. We all – Individuals and Countries – need the blessings of Allah. This is the surest way to loose it.
The future generations and historians of Indonesia will feel ashamed at these acts of the Jakarta rulers, local administrators and the police and soldiers of the town of Bekasi which has deprived this tiny , small Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of their divinely ordained birth right to worship their Creator, God Almighty by sealing off their own Mosque. This-like petty, small minded negative attitude of the crude cruel rulers of the beautiful country called Indonesia will cause more and more death and destruction of these very people who are doing these inhuman acts of insanity and great torture to the Ahmadi Muslims because of their belief in God and the their practices of Islamic teachings. The ruling authorities of Jakarta must discharge their duties and do something positively bold to control the anti-social elements of extremism and terrorism in the name of Islam , the last religion of peace and justice to all, with no discrimination or ill will against any section of society including the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, having the courage to accept the ascension of the Promised Messiah and fashion their lives as ordained by God Almighty to practice true Islam.
Freedom of religion should be respected by all means.
Indonesia is not an Islamic country. It has constitution that confirm for religious freedom. This is actually against the constitution.
To practise a beleive is a basic human right. By preventing Ahmadiyya Jamaat to pactise their beleives in Indonesia is a strict violation of basic human rights. Indonesian Government mustreview it and provide protection and freedom of religion of all citizens.
