THE Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Fiji has pleaded with Fijians who have the intention to join the Taliban to refrain.
Jamaat president Fazal Ullah Tariq said they condemned the work of the Taliban which was misguided and an act of terrorism.
Mr Tariq’s comments followed reports of some Fijians recently being recruited by the Taliban.
He said since the formation of the Jamaat in 1889, they followed the motto of “love for all and hatred for none”.
“Islam never taught terrorism and bloodshed,” Mr Tariq said.
He said the innocent Fijians should be taught the real teachings of Islam.
“Islam means peace. Fijians should be told the right things before they are manipulated,” Mr Tariq said.

Islam stands for Peace and Submission to the Will of Allah(God) and the duty of every Muslim is to serve Humanity for the good of all, irrespective of race, colour, or creed and this service is to be selfless with our reward only being with Almighty Allah(God). Our true exemplar is the Noble Holy Prophet, Muhammad (May Peace be Upon Him) and if everyone follows his example we should achieve true peace ie inner peace and world peace.
Islam is for the good of all mankind and all of His(God’s) Creation. We need to work earnestly in whatever manner to promote Peace, tolerance, mutual love and understanding and constantly do good for all mankind and pray for those muslims who have been badly misled by so called upholders of Islam. They have been responsible for tarnishing the pristine teachings of Islam. We can only pray for them to desist from those acts that promote violence and work towards correcting themselves through true Jihad. True Jihad is fighting one’s own self from all evil and this is the bigger Jihad.
Our Motto of ‘Love for all and Hatred for None’, stands high in the promotion of world peace. We pray for every soul on earth for their good health, safety, well being, inner peace and progress.
Numerous innocent lives have been lost including Ahmadis but no Ahmadi has retaliated in any way setting and maintaining the true principles of Islam which is the only road to world peace and tolerance.
Today, I only see the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, as representing the true Islam.
