Yolo deputy DA’s briefed on Islam
Khalid Saeed, national president of the American Muslim Voice Foundation, spoke to 25 Yolo County deputy district attorneys over the lunch hour last Thursday.
The goal of the discussion, Saeed said, “was to educate the attorneys about Muslims and Islam. Not the Islam they watch on TV, but the true Islam from the Quran.”
Saeed asked Deputy District Attorney Mike Vroman to read translations from the Quran about commandments about peace and war in the world, terrorism, women’s rights, freedom of religion and personal relationships. That was followed by a question and answer session.
Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig had asked Saeed to speak to his deputies about the Muslims and Islam to increase insight and raise sensitivity among his staff.
