Muslim Canadian Congress denounces defacing of war memorial

TORONTO, ON – The Muslim Canadian Congress (MCC) has expressed shock and anger
at the defacing of a Toronto War Memorial by criminals and the earlier
disruption of Remembrance Day ceremonies by Muslim students of York University.

Late Sunday night a passerby saw the Victory Peace war memorial in Toronto’s
Coronation Park defaced with the words “Canada will burn praise Allah.” This
followed shortly after two Muslim students of York University chanting
obscenities at Canada’s Armed Forces disrupted Remembrance Day ceremonies at
Toronto City Hall.

“These Muslim students of York University are a disgrace to Canada’s one million
Muslims and should be exposed for who they are: hate mongers who have
misunderstood Canadians civility for cowardice,” said Salma Siddiqui in a
statement today.

The MCC president also criticized the leaders of Canada’s Islamic establishment
who have made a profession out of their addiction to victimhood, but are
shameless in their silence over the hatred against Canada that has opened its
doors to so many Muslims who fled their countries of birth to escape tyranny and
oppression.

“The silence of Canada’s mullahs is as disturbing as the two Muslim women who
used profanities to insult the brave men and women who died for freedom and
democracy,” Ms. Siddiqui added.

She called on Canada’s political leaders to stop pandering to the mosque
establishment and other Muslim leaders who disguise their real agenda under the
umbrella of anti-war peace movements.

“If Canada’s politicians do not denounce the Islamists working inside Canada and
boycott their activities, they will risk leaving the ground open to xenophobic
rightwing racists who will make matters even worse,” said Salma Siddiqui.
