Prayer leader arrested for fabricating evidence in 11 year old girl case

Express Tribune:

RAWALPINDI: Police have arrested prayer leader Khalid Jadoon on charges of fabricating evidence, which he had used to accuse Rimsha Masih of committing blasphemy by allegedly burning Quranic pages, Express News reported early on Sunday.

Express News correspondent Qamarul Munawar said that Hafiz Muhammad Zubair, who witnessed Jadoon adding pages of the Quran, recorded a statement with the Rawalpindi magistrate on Saturday.

According to Zubair’s account, he was sitting in Iteqaaf in the mosque when some people handed burnt pages to the prayer leader. After a little while, Jadoon added additional pages of the Quran to the pile.

  1. Mullah Jadoon should be charged and arrested for causing blasphemy by adding the papers containing Arabic text to fabricate evidence against 11 years girl who do not even know the meaning of blasphemy and its consequences at the material time of incident. Honesty demands Mullah be charged of blasphemy, will he be I very much doubt, these charges are always one way traffic and those bringing false charges have never been punished for the same crime like that of the accused. Justice Chaudhry should take sue moto against Mullah Jadoon, why not??

  2. If the news reported by ET proves true then who will be answerable for innocent Rimsha who has been in custody since she was arrested in a poor Islamabad suburb more than two weeks ago accused of burning papers containing verses from the Quran? Those who very loudly supporting Blasphemy law in its current shape should learn lessons from this incident. How a religious fanatic can use the law to his ill designs should be eye opener for all. Might be very soon lot many supporters will be on streets for the release of religious cleric as was the case for the murderer of Salman Taseer. How state, judiciary and elite of civil society deal this case the whole world shall be watching it interestingly.

  3. But, the question remains as to WHY a little, mentally challenged girl was made the victim? For what reason?

In her case, the family is poor and are not the owners of land, etc., that would benefit the accusing thugs. Therefore, what was their motive?

And supposing, they had managed to harm this poor girl, and worse, killed her as they were blood-thirstily demanding, would the Pakistani Justice system have taken the goons to task? And would they have even shown remorse for their deed and compensated (for want of a better word), the little girl’s family? For that matter will they even do that, now, that the real story has come out in the open?

  4. Allhamdulillah. “Khud aap apnay daam maiN Sayyaad aa gayaa”.

He has fallen into the ditch that he dug for others.
This is the best news I have ever heard.

    Raziya jee

The reason is simple. Just to create turmoil for which they are paid. This is their bread earning profession, ” Roti Rozee”.

I wish the real culprit the real master mind, that pays such individuals should be brought in the lime light. But it may not happen. Because the culprit has dollars to buy our cheat and coward government Authorities.

  5. This is the real truth about the todays ulema e sue as described for them by Mohammed Rasool Allah (PBUH).

ALLAH saves innocent people of Pakistan from such so called Mullas. This Khalid Jadoon must be punished in a manner that rest of such Mullas learn the lesson.

    Allah Bless us all.

  6. Journalist of Muslim Times, Falk Rahman correctly identified Khalid Jadoon who fabricated the charges of Blasphemy against a mentally unfit and innocent Christian girl of 12 years, as Prayer leader and not an Imam. All the western media is presenting this lunatic person as a religious leader, an Imam and CNN even went further by asking the Pakistani correspondent if Khalid Jadoon was famous and respected in Pakistan. So much for the credibility of CNN.
It is an unfortunate situation in Pakistan and many other Muslim countries that anyone with a long beard, a skull cap and a trouser over ankles who have memorized few chapters from Quran and some narrations of the Holy Prophet can start a mosque without any permission, proper education, religious training and knowledge of Islam. It is high time that Pakistani government sets a minimum educational standard for a person to be a prayer leader as well as Imam. Islam has been high jacked and we are looking in the direction of those who are guilty in the first place for this mess – namely Saudi Arabia.

    • Actually, Quraishy sb, CNN is not really to blame since they don’t have much knowledge about the difference between and Imam and a prayer leader. They probably think that it’s one and the same thing.

Westerners are quite ignorant of Islamic terminology, I think.

  7. Well, the poor Mullah just wanted to make the judge’s work a bit easier.

Even in the ‘good old days’ of Pakistan, in 1965, I asked our young security officer just for my information what he will say to the judge when he will be called as a witness. (I was sort of interested in ‘his version of the truth’). However, our efficient security officers saluted to me and said: “Whatever you say (that I should say), Sir!”
