(Reuters) – Bangladesh told three international aid agencies on Thursday not to help thousands of Rohingyas Muslims who have been fleeing into Bangladesh to escape violence in neighbouring Myanmar.
France’s Médecins Sans Frontières, British-based Muslim Aid and Action Against Hunger were told about the ban by Joynul Bari, commissioner of the southeastern border district of Cox’s Bazar, which he said was meant to discourage illegal migration from strife-torn Myanmar.
Bari said the directive came from Bangladesh’s NGO (non-governmental organisation) Affairs Bureau which regulates aid groups.
The charities were not immediately available for comment, but have already faced pressure not to aid a new influx of Rohingyas.
Longstanding tensions between ethnic Rakhine Buddhists and Muslim Rohingyas boiled over in Myanmar’s Rakhine state in early June, resulting in a series of arson and machete attacks in which authorities say 77 people were killed and more than 100 wounded.
Myanmar security forces killed, raped or carried out mass arrests of Rohingyas after the violence started, New York-based Human Rights Watch said, raising questions about the government’s ability to manage an ethnically diverse nation emerging from decades strict military rule.
There are at least 800,000 Rohingyas in Myanmar but they are not recognised as one of its ethnic groups.

How shameful is the character of so called ‘Muslim’ countries!

1) Pakistan and Bangladesh were created to support Muslims! and what they are doing?
Bangladesh how hypocrite and tyrant are the muslims from this country!
They sent millions of refugees in India who at times create tensions with locals(just few days ago). And disrupt peace and tranquility in India.
And this country is stopping persecuted brethren from entering to its teritory and aid agencies from feeding them?
Global warming will submerge 2/3rd of land in Bangladesh. We will see where these people will go then.
It’s a secular Non-Muslim Hindu majority country which is doing this favor on Myanmar muslims that it allowed them to come and settle here!

Pakistanis and Bangladeshis in this holy month of Ramzan instead of doing good deeds show steep rise in anti-Hindu violence, especially in Bangladesh. And result are clear Bangladeshi Hindu refugees in India.
This is not an issue about mythical ‘Islamic brotherhood’ but practical reality.
The democratically elected Bangladeshi government has made the right, if difficult, choice in refusing to admit additional Rohingya Burmese refugees. Bangladesh is a poor and underdeveloped country unable to feed some of it’s own citizens, much less feed and clothe refugees! These refugees will also cause social and political instability. WE really don’t need the hassle.
Bangladesh already hosts 300,000 Rohingya refugees who arrived in the 1980’s and have not left. In addition some 500,000 Pro-Pakistani Bihari refugees left over from the 1971 Liberation War from Pakistan still remain.
