Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad calls for vigilance against all forms of extremism
On 11 July 2012, the World Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Fifth Khalifa, officially inaugurated the ‘Tahir Hall’, a three-storey complex built by the Jamaat on land adjacent to the Baitul Islam Mosque in Peace Village. More than 550 people attended the event including more than 150 non-Ahmadi guests.
The event began as Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad unveiled a plaque to officially mark the occasion. This was followed by a welcome address by Lal Khan Malik, the President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Canada and the remarks of various guest dignitaries.
The highlight of the evening was the keynote address given by Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad in which he expressed his great admiration for Canada and its spirit of openness and tolerance. He also used his address to warn about the dangers of extremism penetrating Western society.
In his welcome address, Lal Khan Malik, gave a brief history of the Tahir Hall project. He informed that the building was multipurpose and would be used to educate, to encourage health and fitness and also for administrative purposes. He stated that all of the money for the project had been raised internally by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat.
The audience was also informed that the building had been named after Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad, the Fourth Khalifa, who led the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat from 1982 until his demise in April 2003.

Alhamdolillah.God is great,all praise to Him, as another very happy, fascinating post in ‘TMT’ makes the keen readers all the more pleased and thankful to God Almighty that our dear Huzur-e-Anwar, Khalifatul Masih Al-Khamis,(ata) during his current epoch-making,history-creating visits to the USA and Canada, has also inaugurated, on July 11, a newly constructed, multipurpose three-storey building, called as TAHIR HALL, after the name of Hadhart Mirza Ahmad Sahib, the Fourth Caliph of the Ahmadiyya muslim Community.(Ewan-e-Tahir).I express my hearty greetings and congratulations to all blessed members of local Jamaat who helped in the creation of this meeting place, yes, meeting of ‘peoples-hearts-place’, Tahir Hall, for all the good works/purpose for which the Hazrat-e-Aqdus Masih-e-Maud was sent by God, RabbulAlameen.On this very special occasion, the mind and memory of this humble scribe go, some 30-40 years back, when our dear Hazrat Mian Tahiri Sahib was our ideal patronizing not only as Khadim but also as a role-
model President (Sadr),Majlis-e-Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, Markzia,and this humble one was a member of his Central Executive. And when Hazrat-e-Tahir was Sadr, Majlis-e-Ansarullah, Markzia, he was so kind enough to assign or appoint me in 1981 as office-Incharge called ‘Quaid-e-Amoomi’ a decision, much to the surprise of many as I had just became a Nasir( a member of Ansarullah),only one and half year ago.
Anyhow,all these are my very,very sweet memories, yes! very pious, soul-lifting spiritual memories of my youth as well as of my period of ‘elderly’age.And now, before I beg your leave,special Salam and congratulations to all the good-luck participants of the Tahir Hall inauguration ceremony, a function, especially blessed by the presence of His Holiness Hadhart Al-Khamis, what another landmark occasion in the progressively unfolding history of Islam-e-Ahmadiyyiat. This year the programs of Jamaat has been very convenient. Masha’Allah. We should be very thankful to Allah for His favour upon us.
But still we need much bigger place. May Allah enable us to make yet a bigger space where jalsa can be held. Even international centre is become small for Ahamdiyya gatherings. Masha’Allah.
