I would like to congratulate CNN and Amanpour for very honest reporting. It is so nice that whole world is recognising the great acheivements of Dr Abdus Salam and so sad that Pakisatn under the influence of fanatic Mullahs is trying in vein to deny this great acheivemnet. This is the sad situation of Pakistan.
Allah tala is giving Dr. Abdus Salam rightly due recognition.

If Pakistanis have loved science and knowledge, they would not have been in their social crisis as now. Pakistanis of this time believe in’HATRED FOR ALL, LOVE FOR NONE’. Dr. Abdul Salam is not facing Pakistani hatred after his death but from the very beginning, when he was Head of Mathematics Department in Punjab University, he faced stereo typed scholars. He ultimately left Pakistan and joined Cambridge University. Despite all this his Love for Pakistan never faded and ultimately he died as a Pakistani. Dr Salam is a prominent figure in Theoretical Physics and he will remain so. Mullah hatred is not going to diminish his status in educated world.

It is so heart warming a fact that, though the home country tend to forget him, the world still remembers the works and the persona of this true Hero named Dr.Abdussalaam.
There is no doubt that he was not only a profound scientist, but as human he was a gem of a person, who not only proved to be beneficial for the mankind, but also earned honour for his family, community and home country. He is is an exemplary person for the generations to come. He was a sincere honest and realistic person. Who never forgot who he was. We took pride in where he belonged to.
He planned scientific academies that would be easily available for everyone and many other beneficial projects for Pakistan, which the “well wishers” of the nation and Ummah disproved of.
All the informations about his achievements is available on-line for anyone to see. His life is like an open book.
His name always will be remembered by the world as a celebrated scientist. Insha’Allah.

Dr Salaam when returned from Cambridge after his doctorate to teach at Govt College Lahore, I was a student in the intermediate classes at Islamia College. Just to take a class from Dr Islam I enrolled in a a Mathematics honors class in my B.Sc. Our Math teacher used to eulogize Dr Salaam for his keen insight into Mathematics and theoretical physics. Unfortunately before I reached the class taught by Dr Salaam he had already returned to Cambridge, heartbroken at the treatment he got from the College administration. I missed a life time chance. I just want to say that Dr. Salaam had some great admirers in Pakistan at one time. It is the more recent Mullah bigotry, coupled with greedy politicians and administrators that Pakistan has lost its way in recognizing the right talent of people.
Any political leader who takes help or tries to take help from the maulvis will perish in the end. Every politician should keep away from the ignorant religious leaders (maulvis).
I remember a case of a Pathan maulvi, apparently peaceful, well behaved, who had made a large mosque in Sultanabad Karachi, near Haji Camp. He argued that earth was round, flat, like a plate. My friend (Sharif) took the globe from my home to prove to the maulvi that earth was like a globe. The maulvi never agreed. But later some school children had to be sent to the maulvi to convince him that earth was in the shape of a sphere.
It only shows that present day maulvis are ignorant about science, about the very basic facts of knowledge.
