Ants link themselves together between a gap in a wall to create a bridge for other ants to walk over. The insects were forced to improvise after the route back to their nest was obstructed. Photographer Ciju Cherian had left his garden gate open when he went out, leaving a gap in the wall they usually crawled along. He returned home to witness the weaver ants bridging the gap in Kerala, India.Picture: Ciju Cherian/Solent News & Photo Agency
