Once Again ridiculous Remarks of Journalist Hamid Mir about Ahmadiyyat

By Zubair Khan

With deepest sadness and heavy heart it is pointed out that Mr Hamid Mir who claims himself to be the one of leading journalists of Pakistan, a column writer in daily Jang and presenter of Geo TV program “Capital Talk”once again has written very ridiculous remarks about Ahmadiyyat in his Urdu Colum “Kalam Kaman” in the issue of daily Jang published on 26.01.2012. Memogate is a matter which is entirely political in nature and has nothing to do with religious beliefs. It is irrelevant to which group of Islam Mansoor Ejaz belongs.  Question under issue is to find out the author of Memo. Few months back also Mr Hamid Mir made such ridiculous remarks that since Mansoor Ejaz belonged to Ahmadiyya Community and wanted to take revenge from PPP government as founder of this party Z.A.Bhutto got the community declared as non Muslim for legal and constitutional purposes. Rebuttal was sent to him to refrain from such accusations.  However, it looks that he is determined to defame the name of  Ahmadiyya Muslim Community either by hook or crook.  Again he has uttered very objectionable remarks about Ahmadiyyat in his current column.  After reading the  article one can easily smell that Mr Hamid is working on the agenda of some one else. If he is honest journalist as he claims himself to be then there was no need to attach Ahmadiyyat with the name of Masoor Ejaz. He should have dealt the political question remaining within the political frame work of the case.  Through Muslim Times undersigned would like to strongly protest against his ridiculous attitude and would request other readers also to launch strongest protest for his ridiculous remarks.

  1. I recall the character of his father Prof.Waris Mir who was a liberal journalist and who always wrote against the use of religion for political purposes.During the despotic Zia regime he was the champion of pluralism in Pakistani society and was counted among those who bravely voiced against Zia,s methods to polarise the society in sectarian bases.Unfortunately Hamid Mir does not prove himself as a good follower of his father. On the contrary he always posed to be very near to extremist and fundamentalist forces and now trying to use the cheap sectarian setiments to prove his political point of view.He used to show how he was very near to pakistani establishment in the past but because of some unknown reasons he is now showing his differences with the establishment ,which is his right but he should not do it on the expense of any religiuos community especially a non-political peaceful community which is alwys remained loyal to the state of Pakistan. This attitude is highly comdemnable.

  2. Dear brother Munir Munswwar, thanks a lot for exposing the truth about this “so called outspoken and bold journalist” of Pakistan. Not a must that son follows the footsteps of father

  5. Dear readers, I totally agree with Munawar snd Zubair. They are migratory birds who keep on seeking food to survive under all weathers and circumstance. Eventually they meet their fate and end up as a pray in some one’s nest. Pen is more powerful than sword, and honest analysis is more influencial and effictive. He must be guided to refrain poluting his pen. thanks. kalim
