Turkey admires Tunisia’s secular facelift

Early signs that Tunisia’s new ruling party, Ennahda, will emulate Turkey’s model of secularism in governance have boosted efforts by Ankara to harness the momentum of the Arab Spring. Although Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu abhors the term neo-Ottomanism, a look at the region now shows his country as pivotal in the new “Greater Middle East” taking shape.
