UN women’s fund invites proposals for grants, especially from Arab countries

The United Nations women’s fund for gender equality on Sunday invited organizations and government agencies to apply for grants, adding that first phase of its 2011� funding cycle will give priority to proposals that seek to empower women and their communities in Arab countries.“UN Women supports the participation and rights of women in the Arab States, and the Fund for Gender Equality can bolster women’s empowerment and participation during this time of transition,” said Michelle Bachelet, the Executive Director of the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women).
