Leeds OPP issued an arrest warrant Thursday in connection to a house fire east of Kingston Monday.
The fire at the home of Murray and Alia Hogben, caused an estimated $1 million in damage.
The Hogbens were not home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries reported.
The house at 4520 County Rd. 2 was completely destroyed.
The OPP are looking for Lawrence John Dowser, 53, of Toronto. Dowser is charged with arson.
“It’s quite a serious offence,” said Leeds OPP Const. Sandra Barr.
Barr would not say if there was a relationship between Dowser and the Hogbens.
“Obviously, we can’t compromise the investigation,” she said.
She asked anyone with information to contact the Leeds County OPP.
Leeds and the Thousand Islands fire chief Gerald Bennett said the OPP and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office is still investigating the blaze.
Firefighters from all four of the township’s stations, plus firefighters from Gananoque and Kingston were called to the scene Monday.
The fire closed County Road 2 for about 90 minutes.
