The British Foreign Office has condemned Israel’s plan to build 930 new housing units in the illegal settlement of Har Homa in the southern East al-Quds (Jerusalem).
Tel Aviv occupied East al-Quds (Jerusalem) and the West Bank in 1967 and later annexed both territories.
“I condemn yesterday’s announcement by the Government of Israel to approve the construction of over 900 housing units which will expand significantly the illegal Settlement of Har Homa in East [al=Quds] Jerusalem,” British Foreign Office Minister for the Middle East Alistair Burt said in a statement on Friday.
“Unilateral actions such as this undermine international efforts to build lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians and make the two-state solution harder to achieve,” he further said.
In his statement, Burt referred to Israel as London’s friend saying “at a time when Israel’s friends are working to restart negotiations, this decision is deeply concerning”.
Just a lip service. Diplomatic tricks. Israel will keep on doing it and UK will keep on condemning it. After all it was UK which permitted the birth of this child in this corner of our planet.
