Perak Veterinary deputy found strangled to death

IPOH: State Veterinary Services Department deputy director Dr Rohani Kasim (pix) was found dead at her rented Permai Lake View apartment unit Thursday.

It is learnt that Dr Rohani, 33, was found stangled in the house at 3am. Police have detained a man to assist in the investigations and are expected to issue a statement on the case.

Dr Rohani’s former colleague, Roslizan Nekmat, told reporters that Dr Rohani was still at her office when he called her at 4.15pm on Wednesday.

Roslizan, 45, said she had asked him to buy grilled fish for the breaking of fast.

“I arrived at her apartment at 7.15pm and as there was no answer when I knocked, I left the fish at the door and left,” he said.

Roslizan said he tried contacting Dr Rohani until midnight but his calls went unanswered.

Met at the Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun mortuary, Dr Rohani’s elder sister Ruzaina, 41, said the victim moved into the unit last month after being transferred from Sintok, Kedah.
