Dar Al-Hekma girls attend global leadership forum in Singapore

JEDDAH: Construction Products Holding Company (CPC) has sponsored the participation of three girl students from Dar Al-Hekma College in Jeddah in the five-day Global Leadership Conference 2011 held recently in Singapore.

The conference was in preparation for the Earth Summit to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2012, which will be attended by representatives from 20 countries.

“The conference was a good opportunity for today’s generation of students to acquire knowledge, refine their productive capacity, discuss ways for sustainable development and find solutions to environmental and climate problems,” said Faysal Alaquil, director of business development and corporate social responsibility at CPC.

The three students being sponsored by CPC under its social responsibility programs were Rehab Abdul Kader, Mona Osman and Nora Maghrabi. Environmental Challenge Organization (Singapore), a nonprofit group, organized the conference.

“The conference reflects the highest ideals of ECO Singapore in bringing together motivated and proactive youth from the Asia-Pacific for developing their leadership qualities and to address issues related to the environment and climate change,” said Alaquil. read more
