BBC Video: The Big Questions: Is There Life After Death?

Epigraph

Is he who prays devoutly to God in the hours of the night, prostrating himself and standing, and fears the Hereafter and hopes for the mercy of his Lord, like him who does not do so? Say, ‘Are those who know equal to those who know not?’ Indeed, only those endowed with understanding will take heed. (Al Quran 39:9/10)

The two fundamental beliefs in Islam are belief in one God and accountability in the hereafter. The materials linked above provide a good defense for both, by the Grace of Allah. Incidentally, the Muslim Times also has the best collection on the theme of interfaith tolerance!

  1. No one knows what soul is.
God explan about soul, or Roh, or spirit of God in Al Quran:

And they ask you about the soul. Say, “The soul is something from the command of my Lord, and you are not given from the knowledge but a little.” Q. 17:85.

He Who has made everything which He has created most Good. He began the creation of man with (nothing more than) clay (7) And made his progeny from a quintessence of the nature of a fluid despised: (8) But He fashioned him in due proportion, and breathed into him something of His spirit. And He gave you (the faculties of) hearing and sight and feeling (and understanding): little thanks do ye give! (9) And they say: “What! when we lie hidden and lost, in the earth shall we indeed be in a creation renewed?” Nay they deny the Meeting with their Lord! (10) Say: “The Angel of Death, put in charge of you, will (duly) take your souls: then shall ye be brought back to your Lord.” Q. 32: 7-11.

Allah fully takes away the souls (of the people) at the time of their death, and (of) those who do not die, in their sleep. Then He withholds those on whom He had decreed death, and sends others back, up to an appointed term. Surely, in this, there are signs for a people who ponder. Q. 39:42.

Only God know what soul is, it is unseen like God, angel, Evil.

  2. If you can talk to spirits or animals, that’s is still a matter of this world, but I believe that once we die there is a world we go to forever, that is for the end of time. Where time stands still and we stand before our God and be judged for our doings before either we receive his graceful merci and go to heaven or own up to our countless crimes and atrocities and receive punishment for a specific time. Once I do the time I can joinn the others in heaven

  4. Somi, it’s my belief, I’m not trying to convince anybody. I was sharing my belief. In Quran it says there is no compulsion in faith do I won’t compel anyone but in Quran it states so many places that we will be resurrected and there is a life after death.

    • Let me ask you, if you dont mind.
Who told you that? Why soo easy to believe there is a life after death? Maybe someone has brainwashed your mind. You dont realize it.

      • And Somi says he is a Muslim. You are the first Muslim who apparently does not believe in life after death. Or are you just argueing for the sake of argueing? I think we should not do that in this comment section.

  5. It is one of our article of faith that “ there is a life after Death” All the teaching are from One Almighty God who created the universe. May God help other as well to clear their minds.

  6. My point is that every one has to seek the truth by read God’s books. Do not believe what clerics tell you, because vleric is a man can make a mistake. Many many clerics around the world have deceive Muslim and fall into sinful syrick and go astray, I feel sorry to see that.

His books are not for clerics to know it, but every one has to read and understand it.

Yes, there is life after death as Allah describe it in Al Quran

He will say, “You (roh) did not stay but for a little. Would that you had understood (this at that time)! Q.23:114.

Everyone (roh) has to taste death, and We test you through bad and good (situations) with a trial, and to Us you are to be returned. Q. 21:35.

    PEOPLE DIE TWICE, LIFE TWICE

They will say, “Our Lord, You gave us death twice and You gave us life twice. Now we confess our sins. So, is there any way to come out of here?” Q. 40:11.

    LIFE AFTER DEATH—-PERADISE AND HELL

Those who lives the angles take while they are in a pious state (i.e. pure from all evil and worshipping none but Allah alone) saying that: salamu’alaikum (peace be on you) enter you Paradise, because of that (the good) which you used to do in ( the world).(Q.16:32).

    Who can enter Paradice?

Except to him who will come to Allah with a sound heart, (89) And the Paradise will be brought near to the God-fearing QS 26;(90).

May these verses will help you to discuss about life after death—-between paradice and Hell.
Only few people can enter Paradice

  7. Answering this big question profoundly depends on the person’s beliefs. However, for muslim’s belief, the soul is a complex creation, and Allah have three stages of creation of souls. 1st for angel Allah gave soul with no desire therefore it’s called spirit, animal soul with desire only and no spirit. And human beings soul with spirit and desire. ونفس وما سواها فالهمها فجورها وتقواها. That’s why the human beings have the capacity to be better than the angles and worse than than the animals. In this life the soul connect with body to perform its duty, and accordingly your fate in the after death depends on. The soul it will unite with the same body in the life after death, in order to receive its consequences of this life , whether to go to hell or to heaven, so the same body and soul will be rewarded or punished in the day after. That pillar of believe called justice.
