MAKASSAR, FAJAR — A warm and open discussion atmosphere was felt in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activity commemorating 100 years of Ahmadiyah which was held at the Makassar Ahmadiyah Congregation Office, Jalan Annuang, Friday (03/04/2026).

This forum presents various perspectives, including those from South Sulawesi journalists, to discuss the existence and contribution of Ahmadiyah in society.

This FGD is a space for dialogue that brings together religious, social, and media narratives.

Ahmadiyah tries to explain its position as part of the Muslim community that practices teachings in accordance with Islamic law, while also correcting various stigmas that have developed in society.

Press Secretary and National Spokesperson for Ahmadiyah, Yendra Budiana, emphasized that the Ahmadiyah community in Indonesia continues to strive to carry out religious and social activities despite facing various limitations.

He stated that until now there has been no persecution in the form of mass movements, but there are still obstacles such as not being allowed to renovate mosques in a number of areas.

However, according to Yendra, this condition does not dampen the enthusiasm of Ahmadiyah members to contribute to society.

“We consistently carry out various social activities, such as regular blood donations every three months and involvement in beach clean-ups,” he said.

In addition, Ahmadiyah is also involved in other humanitarian activities through the Indonesian Eye Donor Family (KDMI) program, as well as presenting peace-moving cadres who are active in building social harmony in various regions.
