Tens of thousands of people marched through Berlin for the annual Gay Pride parade on Saturday, just weeks after Germany’s parliament legalised same-sex marriage. This year’s march had as its official theme the fight against the far right. But most of those taking part appeared to be celebrating the landmark law which will come into effect in OctoberSome posters and placards denounced leaders regarded as homophobic, such as Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.

  1. marriage was for thousands of years a union between one man and one (or more) women. This ‘equality’ stuff is a new thing. I just wonder why they could not come up with a new designation, with equal rights and obligations if necessary, but a new name for a new thing. I could even suggest a name (but I better not).
