By Allah’s grace, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Tuvalu has been spreading the peaceful teaching of Islam by medium of National Radio for 5 years.

Month of October 2014 was the 5^th year preaching  of  the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community  on the  National Radio of Tuvalu. The preaching was started in 2009. Ahmadiyya was officially given time slot to explain about Islam once a week every Monday night. Actually It was on Friday night but the schedule was shifted to Monday night later on. The duration of the program is about 30-40 minutes. We are so grateful for this golden opportunity.

Eventhough Tuvalu is Christian majority but Alhamdolillah, the National Radio of Tuvalu still gives opportunity to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community explaining more about the teachings of Islam.

This is very good opportunity to answer all the allegations upon Islam concerning terrorism, Jihad, the status of women in Islam, etc. Nowdays  many things had happened in the world  which had given bad image of Islam. In addition the allegations were massively  spread out  in vast areas via electronic media.  What had happened created misunderstanding about the teachings of Islam on the mind of the people. Islam is identical with extremism and terrorism and it creates islamaphobia and hatred upon Islam and its followers as well.

Therefore Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Tuvalu wants to participate on explaining about the true teaching of Islam by medium of National Radio which it can reach all the people of Tuvalu in outer islands too. For your information, there are nine Islands in Tuvalu and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association is based in Funafuti, the capital of Tuvalu. Furthermore National Radio of Tuvalu is the only electronic media in this island nation. The coverage of this media is quite wide which it can reach other eight islands including Fiji and New Zealand as well. Preaching via Radio is the most effective way to spread the Islamic teachings. Tuvaluan peoples deserve to know about the true teaching of Islam and Ahmadiyya Muslim Community presents in Tuvalu to fulfil that responsibility. Many Tuvaluans had changed their opinions about Islam after several times listening to the programs about Islam delivered by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Some of them have become very sympathetic to Islam. Many of them turned to be very sympathetic after knowing Islam is peaceful religion and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessing of God be upon him) has come to be mercy for all mankind. Yet Ahmadiyya keeps on promoting its motto “Love for All, Hatred for None” which it impresses the people of Tuvalu.

The Late Molana Hafiz Jibreel Ahmad Saeed, 2010

It was an historical event when the late Molana Hafiz Jibreel Ahmad Saeed paid his last visit to Tuvalu in 2010. On his tour of duty to Tuvalu he was given opportunity to preach on the National Radio of Tuvalu whereas he was able to explain about peaceful teaching of Islam. He had explained how Islam encourages Muslim to have strong faith on prayers and the significance of establishing peace within society.
