Al’humdulillah, The First National Ijtema of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Tuvalu was held on August 16, 2014 located in Tepuka Islet, Funafuti.

Tepuka islet is one of the islets in the island of Funafuti, the capital of Tuvalu which is uninhabited islet. Actually there are more than 20 islets in Funafuti. Tepuka Islet is one of them which is a beutiful and exotic islet. There is another islet which is well known as well so called Funafala Islaet.

There is an issue in Tepuka Islet  that there is no drinkable water at all. Peoples have to prepare drinking water if they plan to go there or they can drink coconut water. That is the only option that they can get it for drinking. But they have to make sure they can climb the coconut if they want to get it.

There were 11 participants who joined in the event. There were two invited guest as well. The first guest was Fr. Raynaldo (Priest of Catholic Church) and the second guest was Mr. Qiang Gao, one of Ahmadi friends in Tuvalu. We departed from Funafuti by using one motorboat. It took 3-4 hours to reach Tepuka Islet. The sea was quite rough on that time. Yet we really enjoyed the trip to Tepuka Islet. It was amazing experience for all of us, besides not all of us ever reached to that islet as well even though they are indigenous people of Tuvalu.

By Allah’s grace, we were able to reach Tepuka Islet safely at 12 noon. We began our programs with having lunch together. Later we performed our Salat in congregation. The next program was calling the Azan competition. Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Tuvalu were competing to call the Azan. One of the great parts of this competition was when Fr. Raynaldo accepted the request from the Imam of Tuvalu being his Co – judges for that competition.
