Hundreds of young Muslims gathered in Batman for a vibrant Mawlid al-Nabi event, using the occasion to stress the urgent need for unity within the Islamic ummah amid ongoing global challenges, particularly the suffering in Gaza and Palestine.
This year’s annual Mawlid al-Nabi commemoration, organized by the Peygamber Sevdalıları Vakfı (Prophet Lovers Foundation), carried the theme “Our Leader of Unity and Salvation, Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).” Participants described the theme as highly relevant at a time when sectarian and ideological divisions are being deliberately highlighted within the Muslim world.
The event featured an atmosphere of spiritual enthusiasm and strong brotherhood, with attendees repeatedly calling for Muslims to transcend divisions and stand together.
Serkan Dinç, one of the participants, expressed delight at the large turnout:“MashaAllah, it’s a very beautiful and crowded atmosphere. With Allah’s permission, we expect the same excitement next week in Diyarbakır. We are here to celebrate the blessed birth of the Final Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him). Today, sectarian and factional divisions are being created, and we are against them. We are all Muslims, we are brothers and sisters, we must be united.”
Hüseyin Çelik, who traveled from Hasankeyf district in Batman, underlined the Prophet’s role as a guide for humanity:“We are very enthusiastic and happy. We are extremely satisfied with this event organized by the Prophet Lovers Foundation. Our Prophet removed all the darkness of the Jahiliyyah period and showed humanity the best path. We are living in the End Times, and the awakening of the ummah is essential. We cannot achieve anything unless the ummah is united. We must embrace the brotherhood of the ummah beyond our own blood brotherhood.”
Muhammed Mirza Seyitoğlu highlighted the deeply spiritual atmosphere of the program, stating that love for the Prophet stands above all else and that he remains the greatest guide for humanity.
Other young attendees, Muhammed Ali Gök and Muhammed Mustafa Ziya, said the strong sense of unity, excitement, and brotherhood at the gathering filled them with pride.
Hüseyin Sevim praised the organizers for their efforts and drew a direct link between Muslim disunity and the situation in Palestine:“The event is very beautiful; great effort has been put into it. The pleasant April weather adds another beauty. Thank God for blessing us with such a gift. Our Prophet is a guide of salvation for us. If Muslims were united in vahdet (unity), the situation in Gaza and Palestine would not be like this today.”
The gathering brought together thousands of young people who expressed deep love for Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and a powerful desire for greater solidarity across the Muslim world. Organizers indicated that similar events will continue in other cities in the coming days. (ILKHA)
