Malaysia must ensure non-Muslims in the country also have equal opportunites as its Muslim majority if the Southeast Asian nation wanted to continue prospering, United States President Barack Obama said today of his landmark visit, 48 years after the last American president paid a visit.
“Malaysia won’t succeed if the non-Muslims do not have the same opportunity,” Obama said in a townhall meeting for Asean youths at Dewan Tunku Cancelor in University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur today.
Obama said non-Muslims in Malaysia are currently facing hostility, and some have felt oppressed.
And as you emerge as leaders, you should be on the side of politics that brings people together rather than drive them apart,” Obama said to cheers from the crowd.
Obama said this today when answering a question from a Myanmar youth on factors of cooperation that can bring Asean together given its diversity.
He pointed out that the biggest source of conflict and war and hardship throughout the world was due to people treating those who were not like them differently.
He said the situation in Myanmar right now was that the country was going through a transition after decades of oppressive government, and it was now trying to open things up, which he said is to be lauded.
“However, the danger now that they are democratising, is that there will be groups inside Myanmar that might organise themselves politically around religious or ethnic identities instead of principles of justice or rule of law and democracy.

What is wrong with Sharia Law like you see in Saudi Arabia, Iran, and implemented by Taliban and Hamas? They have hijacked the true Islamic laws by forced.

Sharia Law that implemented in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sudan and others are as follows;

1. The leader is not elected by people, but using force, army with guns and weapons to take the governement. This way is wrong and against the rule of God above.

2. The ruler or King does not treat all people fairly, but he discriminate against minorities such as Jews, Christian, Hindu, Budha and even Muslim Shia. This way is wrong and against the rule of God above.

3. The ruler or King does not protect the right of individuals or minorities. Even he oppress the right of minorities. There is no freedom of religion, expression and protest. This way is wrong and against the rule of God above.

4. The ruler or King impose their beliefs to others with sword or guns.
Those who does not follow his beliefs, will be punished even will be killed. This way is wrong and against the rule of God above.

Conclusion;
Syariah law such as Saudi Arabia, Taliban, Hamas, Sudan etc are wrong, and misleading people. The right syariah law, the right system of government as below;
1. The ruler or a leader will be elected by people through election.
2. Majority will lead Government, and Government have to protect the right of minorities or individuals.
3. Religious Liberty
4. Separation between Government and Mosque,Church and others and President can not take a side of region , in other words, President have to be neutral, with justice for all.

In other words, the right government is the system of democratic secular. So the system democratic secular is syariah law.

It seem to me that even Obama is not the followers prophet Muhammad (saw), but he know Islamic teaching regarding justice for all, that Muslim Scholar from Saudi Arabia,where Islam was born. Right?

Unfortunately,Saudi Arabia treat religious minorities such as Muslim Shian, Ahmadiyah, Christian, Jews etc unjustly. Right?.

Can a nation prosper when local who were once not muslim have converted to islam and accepted slavery of saudis and now been taught to hate their roots and nation they live. 57 islamic nation living example how great nations like Iraq, Egypt are now third grade nations where no one is safe. ISlam is like cancer to a nation and human race . No one can be safe and happy under islamic rule. SEe what happened to these nations and its citizens. ,
Dear alatif, America and othere Westeren Democracies have some flaws too. Therefore, you should either read or listen to the addresses delivered by the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community at different venues of the World, the gist of these is to treat Nations and its people with equality and justice, peace in the World will be the result. Muslim Times often has these addresses/speeches either printed or links to video presentations.
USA and its allies have not always been just to some Nations in particular Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Iran just to mention a few. This does not excuse the Nations you mention like Saudia, Pakistan, Malaysia and the likes who treat minorities extremely badly to say the least. Let’s pray justice prevails all round.

– Alatif, You are here mixing up , Government and The Shariya Law. Yes Governments are oppressive some times and so may be there interpretations of the Shariya. American Laws are made on the basis of human experience and different laws of different Religions, including of Islam.
– Shariya or Religios Laws are focused mainly on those maters where its hard for men to find applicable formulas, like inheritance and marriage and Divorse issues. Or It deals mainly with most common issues effecting severely everyday life and peace of mind, like theft/robbery, adultery, gambling, murder, intoxications and interest.
– I believe, Shariya also allows The government or judiciary to introduce laws may be apparently different from the ones stated above according to the nature or the severity of the offence, as long as they do not conflict with common sense and justice and Quranic Clear (or Muhakkam) Ayats.
So it depends to a good extent on the government’s legitimacy and sincerity how they use Shariya? For their own gains or for the sake of People or God?
The more unstable are the governments the more Severly or harshly they will implement the Shariya (or the religious injunctions), mainly to crush the opposition and to appease their allies. Where there is no Muslim Ruler or Shariya , they will use Christian or Jewish or Hindu philosophies or Shariyas for the same gains.

God’s laws guide His people all aspect of life, including how to govern a nation composed of various ethnic, religious and cultural.

Allah warned His prophets, the Ruler or Government that they have to protect the right of individual or minority as it is written in the Bible and Al Quran.
FROM TAURAT.
Speak up for people who can not speak for themselves. Protect the rights of all who are helpless.speak for them and be a righteous judge.protect the right of the poor and needy. Proverb 31:8.
FROM AL QURAN.
“And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)? Men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will protect; and raise for us from thee one who will help.QS. 4:75.

ALL CITIZEN HAVE TO OBEY THE EXISTING AUTHORITY.

Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (Surat an-Nisa, 4:59).
HADITS.Listen and obey your authority,though he struck your back and take your wealth force .(Hr Muslim ).

GOVERNMENT OR RULER HAS TO TREAT PEOPLE FAIRLY.

O ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for Allah can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest ye swerve, and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily Allah is well-acquainted with all that ye do. (QS. 4; 135.)

2. QS 49 ; 9.– make peace between them ( Jews,Christian,Quraish etc) with justice, and be fair.

3. Allâh does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion nor drove you out of your homes. Verily, Allâh loves those who deal with equity. QS 60;8.

CITIZEN HAVE TO PAY TAX OR ZAKAT.
Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do.
FROM BIBLE
Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed. Roman 13;6-7

Take tithe (obligatory alms) out of their wealth through which you may cleanse and purify them, and pray for them. Indeed, your prayer is a source of peace for them. And Allah is (All-) Hearing, (All-) Knowing. QS 9;103

Separation between state and Mosque and church.

( Prophet and authority are separated. Authority can be Sunni,Shia,Christian,Jews, Hindu,Atheist etc has to obey no matter what )

DEMOCRATIC SYSTEM.
How to rule a nation that have the different religions, tribes, and cultures? In other words; what kind of system of Government to rule a nation?
Allah already explained in Al- Quran that Muslims should consult with others like; Jews, Christian, polytheis, and other religious leaders. As God explained below;

So, (O Prophet) it is through mercy from Allah that you are gentle to them. Had you been rough and hard-hearted, they would have dispersed from around you. So, pardon them, and seek Forgiveness for them.and consult them(Jews, Christian, Polytheistm etc ) in affairs (worldly affairs,system of government etc). Then when thou hast taken a decision, put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust in Him (submission). QS 3;159.

It is very clear that Allah explain in His Book how to govern a NATION. Those who follow His laws, Allah will bless this nation with peace, harmony, and prosperity.

In other words, the right government is the system of democratic secular according to Allah’s laws.

Right now, America is a champion of implementing Allah’s laws how to govern its people.

On contrary, all Muslim countries fail to implement Allah’s laws, they are misguided by their IDOLS through the book of Hadits (Muslim-Bukhari).
