WASHINGTON: The development of Geothermal energy resources available in all provinces of Pakistan can provide cost-effective energy for the long-term and save billions of dollars spent on import of fossil fuels, a Pakistani energy expert said.
Javed Ahmad, Chairman, Energy Foundation-Pakistan, told reporters after making a presentation on the subject at an international conference that foreign entrepreneurs have shown an interest in investing in the field.
He said with investment that will bring technology, geothermal energy could produce 5000 MWe in the initial four years up to 2017, using Co Produced Hot Waters & Capped Dry wells With Geothermal Fluids.
“The use of geothermal energy will improve the economy of Pakistan by saving billions of dollars every year for Pakistan which are being used for import of fossil fuels for power generation”, he said.
Javed Ahmad’s recommendations at the conference included carrying out a Geothermal Energy Resources Base Load Study through International Donors and setting up three pilot power projects using Geothermal Energy in Punjab, Sindh and Gilgit Baltistan.

With the prevalent law and order situation how many foreign investors will be interested, I wonder.
1–Geothermal system may be a correct technology in its own form.(1) Tow qestions :-Question A-Geothermal system developing will cost how much?Question-B–what would be the power-generating cost afterwards?
2–Parallel to Geotheraml system— I have the following idea–application of water in a different way but still based on water. Developing cost would be very reasonable—power-generating cost, almost nill–If it succeds, it would be just a job.
3–I hav sent an email to– Javed Ahmad, Chairman, Energy Foundation-Pakistan, but no response so far.

DEAR SIR,(Para-1) For the last 20 yrs the idea has been clinging to my mind is:-“pumping water out of ground”by machanical means and gravitational force of earth, at very minor cost, but,so far, I could not get time or facility to do the experement.——————————————————– Pumping water out of ground and generating elecricity will be handaled togather.The whole world will enjoy very cheap electricity and crop irrigation if succeeded,there would be the greatest revolution in the world (PRA-2)My interests must be mutualy talked about before it is disclosed how it would work.
NOTE:-Please read para 4 before para 3. (PARA-3) 50 Lac Pakistani Rupees will be needed for experement from intereted parties (Any country, firm or even UN development programme). It is open to all in the world. And the running fuel costs after success will be next to nothing like.(PARA-4) Not necessarily all 50 lac would be spent for experement. It may only cost 10 lac,11,12 lac and so on. But would not exceed 50 lac, If, it does exceed, I would bear myself whatever cost goes above 50 lac. I am asking 50 lac to avoid hastling between parties during the experement time by asking more money again and again.(PARA-5) In success case,my demand would be one billion UKPs from party involved who could buy of me this idea along with its using rights, then it would be party’s concern what to do with it. If it is a failure, there will be no demand of any kind at all.(PARA-6) I will fully use ONE BILLION for the welfare of the creatures of Almighty (MASTER OF THE UNIVERS)in Pakistan or where ever it would be needed in the world.(PARA-7) I succeed or not ,dont know, may or may not, it is a matter of experiment and time.
