One-a-Day Commandments of the Holy Quran – He alone can keep the Mosques of Allah in a good and flourishing condition who believes in Allah, and the Last Day

98. He alone can keep the Mosques of Allah in a good and flourishing condition who believes in Allah, and the Last Day, and observes Prayer, and pays the Zakat, and fears none but Allah

[9:18] He alone can keep the Mosques of Allah in a good and flourishing condition who believes in Allah, and the Last Day, and observes Prayer, and pays the Zakat, and fears none but Allah; so these it is who may be among those who reach the goal.

[8:35] And what excuse have they now that Allah should not punish them, when they hinder men from the Sacred Mosque, and they are not its true guardians?Its true guardians are only those who are righteous, but most of them know not.

[9:17] The idolaters cannot keep the Mosques of Allah in a good and flourishing condition while they bear witness against themselves to disbelief. It is they whose works shall be vain, and in the Fire shall they abide.

  1. IS ZAKAT IS TAX, OR CHARITY?

    OLD INTERPRETATION;
    Often we hear from scholars and clerics that Muslim have to pay alm,or tithe and also Tax. They assume that alm or tithe is tax. Muslim beside pay tax to government also pay zakat, tithe or alm as amount 2.5 % from his earning every year. But we can not find how much Muslim have to pay tithe or alm in Al Quran. Actually, these scholars or clerics are misleading people based on false Hadits.

    MODREN INTERPRETATION IN 21ST CENTURY;

    based on Al Quran and Bible; we believe that Zakat is Tax in modern society. Everyone who has wealth have to pay tax to government. Zakat and Tax are both obligation.

    The purpose of Tax and zakat are the same. Tax and zakat can be used for help people who needs and to pay people who work for government.

    Those who is eligible pay tax, but he does not pay tax, he will pay finality or fine. Muslim have to pay Tax.Tax is obligatory.or must. Therefor, zakat is the name at primitive time, and Tax is the name of modern time. Zakat and Tax are the same

    So those who pay tax to government do not NEED to pay zakat anymore. You can give charity or sadaqaah.

    PONDER AYAT OR VERSES REGARDING ZAKAT(TAX) AND CHARITY (SADAQAAH)

    PAY ZAKAT OR TAX IS OBLIGATORY.”MUST”

    Take tithe (obligatory alms) out of their wealth through which you may cleanse and purify them, and pray for them. Indeed, your prayer is a source of peace for them. And Allah is (All-) Hearing, (All-) Knowing. QS 9;103

    So establish Salah, pay Zakah (fifth) and hold fast to Allah. He is your patron. So, how excellent He is as a patron, and how excellent as a supporter! QS 22;78

    FROM BIBLE

    Set aside a tithe—a tenth of all that fields produce each year.(deuteronomy 14:22

    This tithe is for foreigner,orphams,widows who live in your town and pay for government’s employee.

    Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do.

    Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed. Roman 13;6-7

    PAY CHARITY OR SADAQAAH.

    If you disclose your Sadaqât (charity), it is well, but if you conceal them, and give them to the poor, that is better for you. (Allâh) will expaite you some of your sins. And Allâh is Well-Acquainted with what you do. QS 2: (271

    Those who spend in charity out of what We have provided for them, secretly or openly, they hope for sure trade-gain that will never perish (QS.35:29)

    The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of God, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He wills. And God is All-Sufficient for His Creature’s need, All-Knower
    Those who spend their substance in the cause of Allah, and follow not up their gifts with reminders of their generosity or with injury, for them their reward is with their Lord; on them
    shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Kind words and the covering of faults are better than charity followed by injury. Allah is Free of all wants, and He is Most Forbearing.(QS.2:261-263).

    CONCLUSION

    From Allah’s law Muslim who pay tax to government do not need to pay zakat anymore. If you still pay zakat,it means sadaqah or Charity.

    Sadaqah or Charity is not obligatory or must, but voluntary.

    May Allah guide all Muslim to the true Islamic teaching. Ameen

    All love
