Interfaith Conference: Religious Extremism & Intolerance, in Buffalo NY, Today

The Buffalo Chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will hold its twentieth interfaith conference on Sunday November 17th, 2013 between 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the Millennium Hotel, 2040 Walden Avenue, Cheektowaga, NY 14225, across from the Walden Galleria Mall. 
The topic of discussion: Religious Extremism and Intolerance

Invited speakers representing Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism will present their views about religious extremism & intolerance, and how we can combat it.What are the roots of extremism in various belief systems? How can people preach hate in the name of God and religion? Why some are so intolerant about a different perspective that they react with disgust & violence? These and similar questions are found in the minds of many.

Join the Buffalo chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and guests, for an exciting program with an interactive session to get your questions answered.

They have set up a live stream for those who can not attend the event in person.
The speakers are as follows:
1. Dr. Vijay Chakravarthy, Hindu Cultural Society, Representing Hinduism
2. Rabbi Moshe Taub, Young Israel, Representing Judaism
3. Rev. Merle Showers, United Methodist Church, Representing Christianity
4. Dr. Surjit Singh, Sikh Society of Niagara Frontier, Representing Sikhism
5.Mr. Qasim Rashid, Esq., Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Representing Islam
Each speaker will speak for 15 minutes. The speeches will be followed by a question & answer session and a break at the end where refreshments will be served.
Every one is cordially invited to attend the session & feel free to pass the invitation to anyone who may be interested.
Admission is free and open to all.
