Houston: Regional blood center assists third annual Muslims for Life campaign by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community

The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is participating in the third annual Muslims for Life campaign with blood drives throughout Houston.

The nationwide Muslims for Life blood drive campaign is organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to honor the victims of Sept. 11, 2001, , according to a a press release from the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, and to emphasize Islam’s essential teaching regarding the sanctity of life. The goal of the nationwide campaign is to collect 12,000 blood donations.

Collections are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at the Council of American-Islamic Relations, 5445 AlmedaRoad, Houston, and on 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Hosanna Lutheran Church, 16526 Ella Blvd., Houston.
