The Muslim Times’ Response to Boston Tragedy, as to Any Act of Terrorism

We at the Muslim Times condemn the recent act of terrorism in Boston in the strongest possible terms. Killing an innocent person cannot be justified in any circumstances what-so-ever or the basic fabric of human society will disintegrate.

We are praying for the victims and their families.

We applaud local and federal law enforcement’s wonderful achievements in apprehending the suspects, within days of the tragedy.

We also applaud their resolve to bring the surviving suspect to justice.

As Muslims who believe in the Messiah, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, who reside in USA, stand by our fellow Americans against violence and terrorism, and pledge to work with law enforcement agencies to ensure security of our country.

We call on Americans to take a balanced approach when responding to news about the suspects’ Muslim identity, as this behavior is not indicative of general Muslim beliefs.

The enemy is not Islam. Radicalism is the enemy. Anyone catering to or teaching radicalism under the cover of “Islam” must be dealt with.

Profiling American Muslims, as suggested by some divisive politicians, is not the solution. If anything, it can adversely provoke resentment among some Muslims who are on the fringe and may seek revenge.

We would encourage all Western Governments, with their highest human rights record, to engage the Muslims, instead of treating them like suspects.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, as always, is willing to continue to work with everyone to increase understanding and fight radical ideology.
