The Unchanging Face of Pakistan – Forthcoming Elections

Amidst the already confounded social setup, the Election Stage is being zealously constructed; and the watch dogs (returning officers) appear to be well determined to deliver the Most Truthful (sadiq) and the Most Judicious Custodians (amin) as their “clean stamped” candidates to the voters.

A spiteful circus – falling short of more clowns !!!

Not to any surprise – Mussarat Shaheen (rain drenched film dances fame) is now a Certified and a Bonafide candidate to represent the people of Dera Ismail Khan. She has successfully passed the rigorous standards of the articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Three Cheers to the Establishment and the Parliaments that were dubbed and submerged in the Zia ul Haque Doctrine of Religious Glory.

Unfortunate Ayaz Amir (the midget columnist) fails to all the merits of prevailing public representation criterion.

“Piety” and “Pride” (be personal or national) are the words that seem to be hiding in the folds of some Never-Referred-to Dictionaries.

Does anyone has any more dreams – come untrue !!!

Leave aside the ridicule of the state and of the religion inflicted by the (self-proclaimed) Sheikh ul Islam and his aides like Dr. Rahiq Ahmad Abbasi of Jaranwala Town; take a separate glance at the super-duper venture of Imran Khan’s “add-on” with Jamaate Islami. Who knows, he may have thought of Bhutto’s success when Ahmadis voted for PPP.
Those were the days – they are by gone – since long. The social characteristics then were different than today.

Anyway, no one can expect to harvest “wheat” by sowing “chick peas”. The Current Political Amalgamations in Pakistan are by far unrealistic and appear to be insincere to each other in their fibers; therefore, it tends to appear as the “Survival Artifices” for the Power Seekers while the state structure is deteriorating.

Is it not ironical that a Candidature of a Person is rejected for one constituency and accepted for another?

Same Person, Two Constituencies and Two Results – What should an observer expect ?
