Israel lacks intent for peace

US President Barack Obama last week visited Palestine, Jordan and Israel and brought once more the issue of just settlement for the Palestinian people to the front. Obama emphasized the need for new dialogues to be commenced.
In my opinion it is a wonderful thought, but it cannot be worked on because Israel does not seem to be in any mood to halt settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian land.

There can be no peace while Israel follows its colonization policies and carries on with its Judaization of occupied Jerusalem. There can be no peace talks until Israel shuns its policy of building new houses for occupiers.

And there can be no thought of peace as long as the Jewish state keeps demolishing Palestinian houses.

Israel always claims that it seeks peace, but its actions are quite contrary to its claim. — Shaukat Naeem Ghumman, Riyadh

  1. My opinion is that the ‘Two State Solution’ is long dead. The sooner the better when the Palestinian leadership will accept this fact and fight for equality within the ‘One State’. One man/women one vote – on equal basis. Apartheid does not belong to this century.
