“Thousands of children and teenagers who were going to participate in the camping activity from Friday to Sunday were forced to go home due to pressure from a demonstration by around 100 people who called themselves the Solo Raya Muslim Brotherhood Forum (FUUI-SOYA) on the grounds that Ahmadiyah is heretical,” said Yendra.
According to him, they have held similar events in the same area several times and have never encountered any disruption. The organizers have also coordinated with the site owner. The campsite manager also handles permits and notifies relevant parties.
Meanwhile, FUUI-SOYA Secretary Abu Hambra stated that the protest was motivated by concerns about the spread of Ahmadiyah beliefs. They have submitted an official letter of objection to the relevant authorities.
In the letter, FUUI-SOYA stated its objection or rejection of the implementation of the activity and requested that it be cancelled, based on MUI Fatwa No. 11/MUNAS/VII/15/2005 which stipulates that the Ahmadiyah sect is a group outside Islam, heretical and misleading.
Based on information received from the local village government, Abu said, the event was attended by around 2,500 participants from various regions in Indonesia, using the name Humanity First. “After investigation, it turned out they were Ahmadiyah. Ultimately, FUUI-SOYA rejected it,” he said.
According to Abu, local authorities and residents received no notification that the activity was related to the Ahmadiyah . FUUI-SOYA will continue to monitor the location with the police, as all activities are scheduled to last until Sunday. “This is a request from the local community for assistance and monitoring until June 7,” he said.
