At 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday, police responded to a weapons call on Colombo Crescent, near Jane Street and Teston Road.
Police say that an altercation had occurred, which resulted in two victims — a 22-year-old man and a 27-year-old man —suffering stab wounds. The two men are cousins.
Both victims were taken to Toronto’s Sunnybrook Hospital where one man was pronounced dead. The other is in serious but stable condition.
On Thursday morning, York Regional Police identified the deceased as Muzaffar Goraya, 22, of Vaughan. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for Friday.
The victim’s uncle, Naseer Goraya, said the slain man’s mother and father are devastated.
“She is really, really in shock, very bad condition and she is crying a lot,” he told CBC News.
“His father is really in bad shape now. He cannot get up.”
Muzaffar Goraya was studying business at Humber College and worked at Air Canada.
He could fall under the category of Shaeed (martyr) because there are many levels of Shaeed-Allah knows best. May Allah tala give the family solace at this difficult time.
It is really really a very grieving moment for the jamaat here in Canada. Only God knows how to console his parents. It is unthinkable that has happened to them. We are extremely shocked.
I personally know the Mother of the 2nd boy that has narrowly survived this horrible ordeal.
May Allah have Mercy on the deceased family and comfort their hearts. Amen.
Though the loss is un recoverable. Yet Allah is capable of everything. May Allah give them strength to bear it.
The family has been pushed into un ending agony.
The killer should be shown no mercy.
inna lillahi inna alaiha ragioon..may his soul rest in peace…
Such an insane and inhuman act could be performed in a peaceful country like Canada is unthinkable. It is most abhorent, cunning, shameful act of brutally killing an innocent young boy of 22, with none of his fault. Please remember anisa bibi, on such heart& back breaking horrible incidents/occasions, God Almighty has given us,out of His unlimited Mercy and Blessings, some holy words, yes, balm-like, consoling words of God, and we all should read, repeat these Arabic words of ‘Inna lillahey wa Inna Alaihey Rajeoon, which means, we all belong to God Almighty and one day we have to return to Him. Believe it, please that it was the will of God that our dear young Muzaffar should have returned to the God Almighty as a Shaheed, a great honor, no doubt. And as for myself,
right from the moment of reading this nerve-shaking incident, my mind is filled with the sad and heavy-heart/soul feelings for the grieved father and mother of the deceased, martyred son of Islam-e-Ahmadiyyat,Canada.We pray that God may accept the ‘Shahadat’ of the deceased member of the Jamaat-e- Masih Muhammadi, and that God may give you all, the shattered family of ‘Shaheed’,Muzaffar Goraya, the required strength to bear this irreparable loss. But please, have a strong faith in God Almighty, nothing happens in this world with out His will and in this act, God called back the Shaheed son of the grieved parents/family members. Everyone of us have to return to God Almighty at the appointed time. Shaheed Muzaffar has got his time with God and left us. The respected parents, shattered by this ugly incident, may get this point and they feel what this verse conveys”-Zindagi di hui ussi ki thi, Haq tu yeh hay keh haq ada na hua.) God may bless his soul. Ameen. We are also praying for the full recovery of the injured fellow in the hospital. And further pray that God may save and secure us all Ahmadis through out the world and may not put in any sort of other such testing periods,Ameen.
It is shocking and a very tragic incident in which a young man lost his life and another young man was seriously wounded.I extend deepest feelings of condolence and sympathies for bereft family. May Allah bestow His blessing on innocent departed soul. May Allah give Patience and courage to the family to bear this loss.Amin
