French prosecutors have dropped the sexual assault case brought against former IMF chief Dominque Strauss-Kahn by French writer Tristane Banon. They said they had prima facie evidence that a sexual assault took place, but the case was too old to prosecute.

It is interesting to observe the different kind of reactions from ‘males’ and from ‘females’ to the ongoing saga of Mr. Strauss-Kahn. It reminds me of the different reaction to OJ Simpson’s verdict. In that case all Afro-Americans were jubilant and all Whites were stunned. In Strauss-Kahn’s verdict all ‘males’ seem to find his acquittal fine while all ‘females’ find it less so. In any case, I think the ‘medal’ should go to his wife, who stands on his side ‘no matter what’.
