Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) — A Pakistani court has suspended the death sentence of Mumtaz Qadri, a security guard who killed a liberal politician over the latter’s remarks on the nation’s controversial blasphemy law.
“Qadri was provoked by the governor and should therefore be tried for murder, not an act of terror which is what he was tried for earlier” said his attorney Raja Shuja Ur Rehman in confirming the judge’s decision.

Why was this ‘expected’ I wonder?
Because the Fanatics rule. The establishment, the institutions cave into fundamentalists pressure. Also the flawed blasphemy law gives them excuse
What a shame! Pakistani court just signed death sentence for millions of innocent Pakistanis.
There is complete violation of logic, reason and Islamic instructions here. Allah says:
“And there is life for you in the law of retaliation, O men of understanding, that you may enjoy security.” (Al Quran 2:180)
“O ye who believe! equitable retaliation in the matter of the slain is prescribed for you: the free man for the free man, and the slave for the slave, and the female for the female. But if one is granted any remission by one’s brother, then pursuing the matter for the realization of the blood money shall be done with fairness and the murderer shall pay him the blood money in a handsome manner. This is an alleviation from your Lord and a mercy. And whoso transgresses thereafter, for him there shall be a grievous punishment.” (Al Quran 2:179)
The Soul of Salman Tasreer would perhaps quote this verse of Faakir
,
“Mera Qatil hi Mera Munsib hai,
kya mere haq mai faisalah dega”…
“My Judge is also my murderer,
How will he give a decision in my favour”
what could one expect from the land of injustice?
They are a bunch of cowards and ignorant people
In fact they do not have any God to fear
They only worship Muullahs
Like his lawyer has said that he should now be tried for murder – is that supposed to have a different sentence to death, in Pakistan. For according to the Qur’anic verse quoted above by Brother Zia, his sentence should still be death…., or don’t the ignorant mullahs know this or his lawyer? The end result is still going to be the same, unless being Pakistan the verse is given a different interpretation. It sure is a sick and ignorant country. Oh yes, and cowardly, too, with no sense of justice, either.
It is just a wishful thinking that a mulla and his followers shall behave according to the teaching of true Islam as prescribed in the Holy Quran and practiced by the Holy Prophet (saw) and his true followers. We pray and wait for Allah’s verdict in this world and in the life to come.
