MADINAH: Saudi female poet Mastoura Al-Ahmadi died on Monday at the age of 35 at King Fahd Hospital in Madinah after she suffered from a heart problem.
Al-Ahmadi was a famous poet who participated in the popular reality TV show “Poet Of The Million,” aired from United Arab Emirates on Abu Dhabi channel. The show is a competition for the most talented poets in Arabic poetry. The winner walks away with a prize of one million dirhams.
Prince Miteb bin Abdullah, head of the National Guard, ordered to transfer the poet who suffered from heart ailment to the National Guard Hospital. She was later transferred to King Fahd Hospital to continue her treatment, where she slipped into coma and died. There was a big shock among her fans who flooded her Facebook fan page with condolence messages. Al-Ahmadi was buried in Madinah late Monday at Baqee cemetery.
