PUTRAJAYA: Indonesians top the list of foreign workers registered in the ongoing 6P comprehensive registration exercise.
Until 8am yesterday, 896,643 Indonesians – which make up 46% of workers from 12 countries – had registered under the Immigration Department’s biometric registration exercise that started on July 13.
Home Ministry deputy secretary-general (registration and immigration) Datuk Alwi Ibrahim said of these Indonesians, 535,181 came under the 6P exercise for the registration and amnesty of illegal foreign workers that started on Aug 1.
The deadline for the registration of legal workers and registration under the 6P programme is Aug 21.
