The disintegration of society

Learn the lessons of history but, unfortunately, we never do. The eventual ending of the world, of our planet earth, has been predicted since man contrived the written word and, subsequently, has been expounded in a million and one theories, further predictions and writings, ranging from the Bible to Nostradamus and many others.

Apparently enough, humanity has predicted its own ending based on the eternally overt tendency of human beings to eventually commit mass suicide and their own extinction. Man has sought to make war not peace. Using sticks and stones at the onset, we now store nuclear armaments that can blow our planet to smithereens. Wars have succeeded wars, the latest more lethal and horrific than its predecessor. However, leaving nothing to chance, we continue to devour resources while failing to control a population spread that is now seven billion…

Let me recount a few of these lost components.

Religious values have ceased to exist in many sectors of society but, in particular, among youth. Religious sentiments are derided and laughed at and anybody holding them is regarded as being a “freak”…

Rampant materialism has been glorified, if possible to be obtained by the least amount of work for the maximum volume of return. The work ethic has been devalued. Ambition has soured and no longer revolves around the “obtain a good job, work hard, find a nice girl/boy, settle down, have a family” ideal.

Violence has become a way of life. Children play video games that are killing fields of bile and gore. Correction has become outlawed and obsolete and any parent or adult hazarding giving a child a good corrective clip around the ear or a good slap on the calf is outlawed and hounded. Teachers and parents have become totally powerless and dangerously vulnerable to any accusation a child may make against them.
