MMAN (JT) – His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday held talks with Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, head of Egypt’s ruling military council, in Cairo on means to boost bilateral cooperation, the latest regional developments and other issues of mutual concern.
During the talks between the two sides, which were followed by a two-way meeting between King Abdullah and Tantawi, His Majesty stressed Jordan’s full commitment to strengthening its relations with Egypt and building on previous cooperation in a manner that serves the interests of the two countries, a Royal Court statement said.
King Abdullah voiced hope that Egypt will continue to play a pivotal role, under the new leadership, in the Arab world and the entire region and that its people will achieve their aspirations in boosting the country’s development, progress and democracy.
