‘Islamic awakening in Mideast promising’

The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) expresses optimism about the positive effects of Islamic awakening in the Middle East on the fight against arrogant powers.

The growing campaign against arrogant powers and dictatorship in the region is promising and would cause accomplishment among Muslims, said Saeed Jalili in a Monday meeting with the leader of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI), Ammar al-Hakim, in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

The SNSC secretary deplored suppression of the Bahraini people by foreign powers and stressed the importance of paying heed to legitimate public demands, IRNA reported.

Jalili lauded Iraq’s role in recent developments of the region and called for the expansion of relations between Tehran and Baghdad.

Hakim, for his part, said a promising trend has started in the Muslim world thanks to the will of Muslim nations. read more

  1. Islamic Awakening is definitely promising, however, it is not quite justified for Iran to take credit for it, nor jump on the ‘band wagon’. The question is: Who will the public choose as a leader of this awakening? Look around: All the ‘reform movements’ in the Islamic world are without a proper leader. We should ask the question: Whom does Allah have in mind as a Leader for the Muslims at this time?
