It was pointed out by a legislator that the oath for lawmakers, which declares that Mohammed is the final prophet, was replaced with another undertaking in one of the amendments. The original oath was introduced to bar the Ahmadiyya community from contesting elections on a Muslim seat as the Pakistani Constitution had declared them non-Muslim in 1974. Ahmadis have never participated in elections ever since. The government reversed the amendment within a week after religious parties declared the change a conspiracy. An inquiry was also ordered into the matter and the dust was settling down.
But Mr. Rizvi suddenly announced a march towards the capital. Labbaik supporters, who seized the main entrance to Islamabad, said they wanted the Law Minister to go. The government half-heartedly ordered a police operation on November 25, after directions from both the Islamabad High Court and the Supreme Court. The operation failed to vacate the crowd. Instead, protesters tortured police personnel, burnt vehicles and looted nearby showrooms, causing damages of 160 million rupees. The government ordered the military to intervene, but it refused. Instead it offered to mediate and convinced the protesters to leave after ensuring them that the Law Minister would resign. He did, in return for a religious edict that he would not be declared a “blasphemer”.

It mentions facts on ground but lacks many details. However you hit the nail. The Army is the master mind behind all the fuss prevalent in Pakistan. Civil elite has short lived memory. Mr Z A Bhutto who was extremely powerful leader once said he would ensure Army Generals remain in limits and then every one saw his destiny. Mind set of Army does not accept Civil superiority. Nawaz Sharif knows it and tested it three times. He does not have the courage to say it loud and clear. His daughter may one day open up if she has the guts and courage. Until now both talk metaphorically. Other problem is family is corrupt also as such fears backlash.
Army since long demanding its role in state affairs specially in defence and foreign related matters. Without having say in both matters no civil government dare to work freely. Current religious cleric for Islamabad Dharna was a unique selection by the Army. On which level they want to go God knows better.

But Ahmadiyyah has been struggling more than 100 years, ahmadiyyah still lose the battle with the extremist Muslim in Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia etc . What is wrong?
Whereas Ahmadiyyah are lovely Muslim, but the extremist are violent Muslim.
I think Ahmadiyyah leaders or young leaders should introspect there is something wrong in struggling for the right of justice and freedom.
Whereas 10 millions Ahmadiyyah pray to Allah for help every day but Allah still does not listen. Why?
Ahmadiyyah need to change the strategy how to win the battle with the extremist Muslim in Pakistan.
Allah’s warning.
Allah will not change the condition of (Ahmadiyyah). If Ahmadiyyah do not want to change it.
Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people
until they change it themselves (with their own soul ) . QS .13:11.
