ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that son-in-law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif Captain Safdar should not have made statements against the Ahmadi community in the National Assembly.
In an interview to a private news channel, the prime minister stated that neither he nor Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is responsible for Captain Safdar’s opinions.
“No one in the party would agree with him,” he said
He assured that he will deal with the PML-N leader for his remarks against the community.
The prime minister dismissed the notion that the party leader’s statements were fueling hatred. “What he said was apparently in the flow of emotions.”
“We should stay away from such statements which create unrest in the society,” said Abbasi.
He stated that Captain Safdar, being the son-in-law of former prime minister, should not have behaved in that manner and urged him to be more mature in the future.
